LoL League of Legends – Patch 10.12 Overview

League of Legends is in full swing right now, with LEC and LCS starting on June 12, but that doesn’t mean Riot is stingy with the patch notes! Patch 10.12 is ready and we should take a closer look at it. So let’s get started!

First of all, some good skin news: expect High Noon Senna and High Noon Irelia to arrive for Patch 10.12, and Hextech Nocturne to join the duo as well. What a skin rich time, especially since the Pool Party skins have also been teased.

Buffs from Patch 10.12

Patch 10.12 has a handful of champions that have been buffed, including:

Akali
Brand
Senna
Viktor
Volibear
Xayah

Developer Comment: “Senna’s position as an AD Carry has been quite weak since her last changes with Patch 10.6, so we’re giving her more chances to put herself out of her misery by farming. We also fixed a bug where the preparation time of attacks was longer for critical hits. Your choice in the appropriate items should improve as a result.”

Of all of these, Senna, Brand, and Volibear are must-haves for Patch 10.12. Let’s start with Senna, who didn’t really need another buff (but we welcome the bug fixes) and has now received another massive buff to her passive. Instead of a 1.67% chance of mist spirits appearing, it is now 8.33% for minions Senna kills. This means more damage. So Senna is a must-pick again in Patch 10.12.

Brand has gotten an extra mana recovery from his passive, Blaze, which would normally get 6-18 (levels 1-18), but now restores 20-40 (levels 1-18). This is great for Brand, who was suffering from low mana anyway, so being able to dish out more damage is never a bad idea.

EarlyGame Tip: Choose Brand as Support. His increased mana recovery means more raw damage for the botlane.

Volibear has seen some much-needed improvements to his life regeneration since his full overhaul not too long ago. His overall package has been fine-tuned for patch 10.12, bugs have been fixed, and he even has better mana regeneration (from 40 to 50) and health (from 85 to 90). The biggest changes to his abilities are his R, Stormbringer:

It increases the duration of the tower disable – 2/4/6 seconds to 3/4/5 seconds.
Has a greater ultradius: 250 to 300.
Its base damage has been increased: 250/475/700 to 300/500/700.

These changes are welcome for Volibear, who felt very underpowered when he was released. Even our best Volibear guide couldn’t help him, but now he can!

A brief but necessary change to Viktor and his Q ability, Siphon Power, which now has an increased ability strength from 0.55 to 0.6, as well as an increase in his shield ratio that will massively increase his dueling potential in the midlane.

Developer comment: “We’re boosting Viktor’s potential in mid-range engagements so he doesn’t have to rely solely on his E to deal damage effectively.”

Nerfs from Patch 10.12

Riot Games has generated some champions for patch 10.12, including:

Cassiopeia
Fiddlesticks
Trundle
Varus
Yasuo

Developer Comment: “Fiddlesticks has benefited more than intended from our recent improvements. We’re limiting his damage against minions a bit without scaring him out of the top lane.”

Fiddlesticks has finally been caught by Riot Games! This hay bundle has been number adjusted and tweaked in previous patches, but now it has had a reduction to its W, Bountiful Harvest, reducing its overall damage to minions by 10%. This will hopefully reduce the number of forays he makes through the Summoner’s Void after clearing a wave of minions.

Trundle continues to cause problems, especially in competitive play. We quickly learned what was going on in League of Legends Pro Play. In recent weeks, the trend has been to build Trundle with great mobility and use his W, Frozen Domain, for extra movement speed – and before you know it, you’re on the top lane in less than 10 seconds.

Because of this, his W, Frozen Domain, has been reduced from 30/35/40/45/50% to 20/28/36/44/52%, which should reduce his assertive early-game ganks. Some changes were made to his health, mana, and mana regeneration, but they are so tiny that it’s not worth talking about…. Ok well, we all love stats, right? So here:

Health 616.28 to 616.
Mana 281.6 to 281.
Mana 7.508 to 7.5.
