LoL League of Legends – Patch 11.18 – Patch Notes Highlights

The first part of the 2021 World Championship patch was released today. LoL Patch 11.18 contains many small changes that focus on the pro scene and shouldn’t have too much of an impact on the solo queue – at least that’s what Riot claims.

So let’s take a look at some of the biggest changes in LoL Patch 11.18. Will any of these changes affect our games and will the 2021 World Championship have a varied champion pool as Riot intends? Let’s find out!

Champion Buff Highlights in LoL Patch 11. 18

One of the most talked about changes in LoL Patch 11.18 is Soraka’s ultimate ability, which now removes all gaping wounds before she applies her healing. Since then, anti-healing items have made her core gameplay more difficult. So will we see Soraka on the Worlds stage after this change?

Similar to Soraka, Dr. Mundo is also affected by gaping wounds and can’t heal himself as often as he would like. That’s why he now ignores Anti-Heal when using his ultimate ability, at least for the immediate HP gained. Gaping Wounds is still applied to the ability’s health regeneration.

The glorious Executioner aka Draven finally gets an Execute… why didn’t Riot think of that before, his name is literally “Executioner”! How exactly is he going to do this? Well, if Whirling Death drops an opponent’s health to or below Draven’s current stacks, he’ll execute them. Sounds fun, right?

Champion Nerf Highlights in LoL Patch 11.18

Ashe is one of the strongest champions in the meta, so it’s no surprise she’s on the nerf list. She will be slightly weaker in the early game due to the cooldown extension of her W. This small change will at least offset her dominance somewhat.

Who should Ashe play with? With none other than Thresh, who has been one of the best supports all year. His ability to counter melee supports like Leona or Rell has been toned down in hopes of improving the balance in the bot lane.

Champion Customization Highlights in LoL Patch 11.18

Several champions have been adjusted to take on different roles in Summoner’s Rift. Among them is Talon, who now deals 50% bonus damage against monsters. Qiyana also deals 25% bonus damage against monsters with her Q. So with these adjustments, will we see more Assassins in the Jungle?

Are any of these champions in this week’s free champion rotation?

Since Fizz’s ultimate ability is easy to dodge in pro-play, Riot decided to give it a little more bite in the early game instead. This means the Ultimate isn’t as strong, but he does more damage with his W. He also has thicker fur, so he’s not as squishy and can be easily killed in the early game.

Pentakill skins and more in LoL Patch 11.18

Pentakill is back in LoL Patch 11.18. They just gave their comeback concert and it was great – even if the Immortal couldn’t make it! Along with their new album ‘Lost Chapter’, the Pentakill members also have some new skins for us in the store.

But not only the original 6 Pentakill members got new skins, Viego also joined the group and even blasted their concert with his musical skills. Therefore, Viego will get his second skin in 2021 with Dissonance of Pentakill Viego.

Last but not least, we have a skin that goes to Tristana. Hextech Tristana is something for those who aren’t into the metallic, rocking Pentakill look.
