The League of Legends patches are going into the next round and this time the patch notes are causing quite a discussion in the LoL community. New buffs and nerfs specifically addressed to pros, Lillia as a new champion and the Spirit Blossom skins are waiting for us. Now you have the rough overview. Let’s get started!

Lillia has officially joined League of Legends with patch 10.15. So get ready for a massive load of cuteness. LoL Patch 10.15 could be even better if Riot Games has more information on Yone, the masked assassin. Maybe there are some clues in the Spirit Blossom skins? We are curious.
Side note: Spirit Blossom Thresh, Spirit Blossom Vayne, Spirit Blossom Yasuo, Spirit Blossom Lillia, Spirit Blossom Teemo, and Spirit Blossom Teemo Prestige Edition will be available starting today, 7/22/2020.
The Buffs
There were some interesting champion buffs in patch 10.15:
- Caitlyn
- Gragas
- Irelia
- Rakan
- Shen
- Skarner
- Swain
- Yuumi
Let’s go into more detail about the notable ones.
“The General and his Demon Birds perform well in the average game, but they perform worse as you move up in rank.
Yes, you heard me right dear folks. Swain is getting some buffs and nerfs, but mostly buffs in this LoL patch. Let’s focus on these changes. The removal of mana recovery from his passive, Ravenous Flocks, caused some dicussion among Swain Mains.
However, this change makes sense since Swain’s Q, Death’s Hand, can now be cast through champions, for example, with the recent buffs. This allows him to provide much more area damage in large teamfights. That combined with his passive would just be too powerful.
Another massive change to Swain is his W, Vision of Empire. At the last level, Swain can cast the ability almost across the entire map.

W – Vision of Empire
- Range: 3500 ⇒ 5500/6000/6500/7000/7500
- Damage: 100/150/200/250/300 ⇒ 80/120/160/200/240
- Mana cost: 70/85/100/115/130 ⇒ 70/80/90/100/110

“Yuumi’s nerf in patch 10.13 was a bit too harsh. Now the kitty gets the crawl units it deserves.”
Yes, League of Legends fans, Yuumi is getting another buff. Possibly one of the most controversial champions at the moment, especially since players demanded Riot remove Yuumi from the game altogether This time the changes target her Passive.
Passive – Bop ‘n’ Block
- Mana Recovery: 50-160 (Level 1-18) ⇒ 25-100 (+8% max mana) (Level 1-18)
- Cooldown: 20-8 seconds (level 1-18) ⇒ 18-6 seconds (level 1-18).
We don’t know what to make of the Yuumi buff yet either, but the stats speak for themselves. After patch 10.13, the kitten didn’t even have 45% win rate.
Yuumi gains more strength in the later stages of the game, where her kit really shines. But for now, it looks like she needed that little buff. Of course, we at EarlyGame will keep an eye on her for you and see how the situation develops.
“We’re increasing Scorpion’s damage so she can better take out enemies single-handedly.”
Patch 10.15 brings many changes for junglers. Skarner players beware. His Q will be extremely buffed: low mana, LOTS of damage, including Max. HP scaling from the opponent. On the side, his projectile from the E will no longer slow down when hitting opponents – Wow!?
Speaking of damage: Gragas is definitely a carry now, not a tank. Riot increases its AP scaling on the W and R with patch 10.15.
The Nerfs
Riot Games has generated some champions with patch 10.15. Most of them are aimed at professionals:
- Aphelios
- Fiddlesticks
- Lee Sin
- Ornn
- Thresh
- Twisted Fate
Let’s start with the top five and leave one champion until last. What’s most interesting about patch 10.15 is the inclusion of champion nerfs from pro players. Ornn, Lee Sin, Fiddlesticks, Twisted Fate, and Thresh will be slightly adjusted to allow for a more diverse meta for Summer Split and Worlds 2020. Mark Yetter confirmed this assumption via Twitter
So, you can expect pro players to be the target of nerfs in future patches as well, to make sure that LoL esports doesn’t become boring and monotonous.
We mentioned that there would be one champion left until the end and that is Aphelios. We’ve mentioned it in previous articles, but Aphelios is possibly one of the most complex characters there is in League of Legends. This makes balancing very difficult. With patch 10.15, there are changes that reduce his turret attack range and slow down the turret’s aiming speed. Infernum’s synergy with Runaan’s Hurricane should be generated this way.
The latter was simply too strong and we think the nerf makes sense. Don’t worry, Aphelios will still remain in the list of top tier champions.
