LoL League of Legends – The top 5 LoL champions you should try out

Since there are well over a hundred League of Legends champions, it’s clear that some of them aren’t quite as popular. With the latest patch notes in mind, though, here are some LoL Champions you should check out right away.

“League of Legends” players love to win – with a few notable exceptions that I’ve had on my team. The OP champions are quickly sniffed out and targeted for bans and first picks. However, the meta is a fickle thing and every now and then you can see powerful champions flying under the radar. Here are some picks we think you should check out.

5. Diana

Even though we’ve already listed her as one of the best mid lane champions, Contempt of the Moon remains criminally underused. She’s a great burst assassin and can put pressure on the opponent very early on. With its combination of shield, area damage, and mobility, it’s a small wonder it hasn’t caught on quite yet. Unlike Kassadin, who seems to be headed for some nerfs, it looks like Diana will do well in the next patch as well.

4. Cho’Gath

The beefy Bruiser has benefited from the relative power of tank items. Even after a minor nerf in patch 11.3, he remains a dominant presence in the top lane. Cho brings some crowd control, sustain, and a good amount of burst damage or objective save power after level 6. Whether as a full tank or AP-tank hybrid, this champion can get out of control, get big, and take control.

3. Swain

The great general of Noxus has been quietly outmaneuvering his opponents in the Rift. This high damage control mage has racked up quite a few wins both as a mid laner and, curiously, as a bot lane mage alongside a support. This is where Swain can be most dangerous, as he has more comfortable brushes, a longer lane, and (usually) less mobile opponents to grind against with his surprisingly high damage and ability to pull opponents out of position. After level 6, his ultimate ability gives him a huge power spike that makes him a terror in teamfights.

2. Nocturne

While he is a bit too niche as a top pick in Jungle, Nocturne should not be underestimated. His fast clearing speed is very useful in the current Jungle meta, and while he doesn’t have much crowd control himself, he is good at chasing opponents. However, he has become more popular as a top laner lately, using his speed and chase potential to harass opponents when he has an advantage. Nocturne is not a champion for every team composition, but with the right teammates he is a true nightmare.

1. Samira

A general ban until recently, this swashbuckling sniper had been out of favor for a while. Patch 11.5, however, has finally given her a buff. She’s no longer a common ban, which means you can play her often – and she still does the damage to make it work. Samira still has her weaknesses, of course, so avoid taking her if your opponent has a lot of Hard Engage or other ways to take her out. However, if your opponents pick champions that you can play into, take them and combo away!
