With an upgrade for the TOTWs in FIFA 22 EA Sports wants to make the special cards more interesting. The boost only affects certain cards and should make TOTWs relevant in the endgame of FIFA Ultimate Team. But what are the Featured TOTWs? We provide you with the most important answers!
With cards like Team of the Week, Man of the Match or Player of the Month EA tries to connect FIFA with reality. Basically the approach is not bad to “reward” players for their good performances. Unfortunately, especially the TOTWs lose more and more relevance with time. Ultimate Team is stuffed with events that drop stronger and stronger cards. The TOTWs like to fall by the wayside – despite the possible upgrades. In FIFA 22, however, this is supposed to change.

No, there are no overpriced TOTW packs coming, with which EA can cash in again. The so-called Featured TOTWs work similarly to the standard TOTWs. “You perform outstanding on match day? Pass, FIFA treats you to a TOTW card.” But there is a little difference: Featured TOTWs get a boost. And that’s something to be proud of! We show you how the new cards work in FIFA 22!
Featured TOTW in Ultimate Team – All Info
Compared to the normal Team of the Week players, the new Featured TOTWs get a boost. To get the better stats, players must meet certain requirements. For example, a player must have a rating of no more than 80 OVR and not be in any live event at the same time (e.g. OTW).
In the picture you can see how you can imagine the new cards. The star above the rating is to distinguish the normal from the Featured TOTWs. But this is only a preview. As far as the stats of TOTW Bellingham are concerned, a lot can still change, of course, should the Englishman actually (we strongly assume) make it among the best players of the week one day. And watch out: Should a player make the Team of the Week multiple times, his upgrades will build on the boost. So the map could shave badly over time!
For all of you SBC sweaters out there: Featured TOTWs are treated like Standard cards, so there’s no difference in designation there!
As it was unfortunately often the case in the last years, the TOTWs disappear from the lineups after the first big FUT events and are only used for any SBCs. The boost provided by Featured TOTWs should make the cards more interesting again and keep them in the game longer. We think this is a great upgrade to add some variety to Ultimate Team. FIFA 23 WILL BE THE LAST PART OF THE GAME SERIES UNDER THIS NAME
FIFA 23 will be the last part of the game series to be released under the name of the world governing body and in collaboration with EA. For months the rumor mill was bubbling, now all this has been confirmed by the game makers EA in May 2022. The fact is that after almost 30 years of partnership between EA Sports and FIFA, the license agreement between the two parties will expire with the game FIFA 23.
Already with the launch of FIFA 22, Electronic Arts revealed the following in a blog post: There exists “the idea to rename our global EA Sports soccer games.” According to speculation, the world governing body FIFA has demanded double the amount for a continuation of the cooperation in new contract negotiations with EA. Exact figures have not been confirmed, but it is said to have been a sum in the billions for a total of ten more years.
So it is not surprising that the partnership of EA and FIFA ends with the upcoming game FIFA 23.
