FIFA 22: How to perfect your goal scoring skills

In FIFA 22 it has become more difficult to score goals. Because the goalkeepers are now stronger and hold a lot of balls, the finish has to be well thought out more than ever. It’s also a matter of deciding which shooting mechanics to use. Because this is sometimes not easy, we want to help you optimize your finishing and maximize your overall success.

In the following tip video we show you several shooting mechanics in FIFA 22 and explain in which situations you should use them. Whether it’s a full-stretch shot, a finesse shot, a lofted shot or a timed finishing shot: With our tips you’ll now know when to use which shooting mechanic and how you can significantly improve your efficiency in front of the opponent’s goal.

Extra tip: Practice and use timed finishing!

Our final piece of advice: make sure you familiarize yourself with Timed Finishing. After the new shooting technique from FIFA 19 was neglected in the last FIFA 21, it celebrates its comeback in FIFA 22. As already explained in the video: The use of Timed Finishing is especially effective with long-distance shots – especially the finesse shots (R1/RB) work perfectly. In the penalty area, however, Timed Finishing is not always recommended. For example, for dust-offs or shots from short distance in general, a normal shot is more suitable. The risk that the ball will go well over or miss if used inaccurately is too great.

You are now convinced and want to integrate Timed Finishing into your game? Optimal. Please note, however, that it takes time to perfect this shooting technique. Especially if you have rarely or never used it in the past FIFA years. So don’t be too annoyed if your first shooting attempts with Timed Finishing don’t work out as you expected.
