FIFA 22: This is how you should play with RB Leipzig

We present you the best lineup for RB Leipzig in FIFA 22 and explain how you can get the most out of coach Domenico Tedesco’s team.

RB Leipzig has been one of the most successful clubs in the Bundesliga for years and can already look back on several UEFA Champions League participations, where they regularly compete with the strongest teams in Europe. If you want to play with the Leipzigers on the console, we have some tips for the lineup of the Red Bulls in FIFA 22 for you.

System

When it comes to the choice of system, we have a very special lineup for you this time, namely the 3-5-2! This formation may seem unconventional to FIFA veterans, but it fits perfectly to the RB Leipzig squad. The fast central defenders and playful midfielders come into their own in this system. A compact center was already a recipe for success for Leipzig in previous years, so this is taken up again here.

Defensive

In goal, we find none other than long-time number one Péter Gulácsi. At 85, he is also the highest-rated player in the squad, so there is no getting around the Hungarian national keeper. In front of him, three players make up the defensive chain, all of whom stand out for one feature in particular: Speed. On the right side Lukas Klostermann is the fastest of the trio, who has one of the highest speed values for a central defender in FIFA 22 with 85. His defense is also very well rated with 82.

He shares this value with sidekick Nordi Mukiele, who forms the center and thus the heart of the defense. His high work rate in defense and the combination of speed, physicality and duel strength make him a complete package in the central defense. As the last player in the defensive chain, we send Joško Gvardiol onto the field, who, although not as strong as his colleagues in defense (71), can compensate for this with speed and physicality (83 each). As a left-footer in combination with 4 stars on his weak foot, he can also fill the role of left center-back with playful qualities.

Midfield

Still a three-man chain on paper, this can be supplemented by the two wingers to form a five-man chain if necessary. Angeliño is perfectly suited for this job on the left side. High/high work rates, qualities in defense and offense, and a stamina of 85 ensure that he can control the left side of the pitch for 90 minutes. His counterpart on the right side is Tyler Adams, who has a similar profile.

On the so-called “double 6”, things are now getting particularly high-class for the Red Bulls. With Christopher Nkunku, one of last year’s high-flyers is in the Leipzig lineup, albeit a bit more defensively than usual. Since the Frenchman is not only convincing offensively, but also has defensive qualities, he can fully exploit his potential as a withdrawn playmaker in this position.

Austrian international Konrad Laimer complements Nkunku perfectly as a defensive midfielder with remarkable skills both with and against the ball. The midfield is rounded out by perennial favorite Emil Forsberg. At the playmaker position, the experienced Swede’s better work rate and slightly higher pace value narrowly give him the edge over Dani Olmo.

Attack

Last summer, Leipzig signed André Silva, one of the Bundesliga’s most unerring goal scorers. With an overall rating of 84, he is naturally also in our virtual squad for the Red Bulls. With scores of 87 each, he excels in finishing and positional play, but he also has strong dribbling skills (83).

He is joined by Yussuf Poulsen, who has been playing for the Saxons since 2013. The 192 cm tall Dane is a real weapon in the header game and is therefore also a constant threat to opposing defenses when it comes to standards.

Extra tip

Finally, we have a tip for you if you want to send new impulses from the reserve bench: Dominik Szoboszlai is a versatile attacker at RB Leipzig who can come in as both a striker and a “10”. He has a rating of at least 78 in each of the important stats for the offense and, with the combination of four stars on the weak foot and four stars in the skill moves, is difficult for any defense to count on.
