FIFA 22 TOTS opens Team of the Season event

The Team of the – Season in FIFA 22 traditionally starts with the Community TOTS. Here you can see which players made it into the team by the fan voting and how far we were wrong with our prediction…

The whole FIFA world had to wait a long time for the Team of the – Season in FIFA 22 to finally start and to fill Ultimate Team with really nice content. While other highlights like the Premier League or the Bundesliga are not yet available in FIFA 22, at least the Community TOTS can cheer us up with some new special cards.

As already in FIFA 21, the team chosen by fans has to open the TOTS event. As a loading screen in-game already confirmed before, the Community Team of the – Season started on April 29. But there was a little surprise: The Eredivisie TOTS was released at the same time… we didn’t have that in our FUT calendar.

Community TOTS – All players of the vote

A Team of the – Season normally consists of 15 players in total – this is not different with the Community TOTS. In FIFA 21 the fans selection brought us some strong players like Federico Valverde, David Alaba (as IV) and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

This year again, there are some footballers involved who would just get insane stats with a TOTS upgrade. In the table below you can find all the players that were on EA’s shortlist. The players who made it into the team are already marked in bold.

Especially the midfield is absolutely stacked, while the choice in defense is probably easier for most FIFA players. To be honest, the Community TOTS isn’t as blatant as the Team of the – Season in the top European leagues – but for starters, there are already some upgrades that we like quite a bit.

In addition to the selected players, Giacomo Raspadori (Sassuolo) has been released as SBC. Are you overall satisfied with the fan selection or would you have wished for some other players?

Well, let’s put it this way: we got the “obvious” names like Serge Gnabry, Luis Suárez, and even Lloris right. But with the weaker players, we have sometimes really gone down the drain. For FIFA 23 there is still room for improvement concerning predictions…

Admittedly, the FUT heroes will cost quite a bit of coin, but it turns out that EA has once again brought some top-class players into the game when it comes to selection. As a collector and hunter, it’s an added attraction for FIFA gamers to now include their own favorite heroes in the portfolio and benefit from their individual skills. Both in the game and in team building, the FUTs will revolutionize the game once again.

EA SPORTS FC: FIFA GAME SERIES TO BE CONTINUED UNDER NEW NAME

Of course, the soccer simulation game series will not be discontinued completely. After FIFA 23, EA will relaunch the game under the name EA Sports FC and market it independently. Old FIFA hares should now become quite an ear, after all, the EA Sports Football Club used to be a part of the actual game for years. A lot of playing was rewarded, points could be collected and items, boosts or balls for the individual game modes could be unlocked.

In this context, there could also be a complete revolution of the classic game. There is a heated discussion in the FIFA community about whether the game, which is expected to be released in the fall of 2023, will be free-to-play. This option is said to be on the table for the game makers from EA, because: It seems that EA earns most of its money with the purchases of FIFA Points in the game mode Ultimate Team and not with the sale of the game itself.
