Shepherd is a character from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
Training camp in Afghanistan
Since Shepherd still needed people for his team, he traveled to Afghanistan to look at recruits there. For his mission, he needed the best. In the end, he chose a young private named Joseph Allen, who was also the protagonist of the mission.
Assassination of Makarov
Since Shepherd was trying to kill Makarov, he had his new recruit, whom he had now already accepted into his elite force, fight at Makarov’s side in order to inspire confidence in him. What Shepherd didn’t know, Makarov was planning to assassinate Zakhaev International Airport. After shooting thousands of people, all the three had to do was escape, but Makarov recognized Shepherd’s deception and shot his protégé Allen.
Betrayal to Task Force 141
With the end of the war dragging on and Britain losing more and more people, Shepherd set his elite squad, Task Force 141 on a mission to find Makarov in two possible hiding places. While John MacTavish and John Price went to Afghanistan to help Shepherd’s men fight Makarov’s men, Ghost and Roach went to the Georgian border, to a small outlying Makarov hideout. When Ghost and Roach found a small, digital “diary” showing Shepherd working with Makarov, they are subsequently shot by Shepherd. In Afghanistan, Shepherd’s men also get permission to fire and shoot at their commanders. However, Soap and Price survive it and were able to escape further into the desert.
Death in the desert
After John Price and Soap survived and continued to pursue him, the combed his outer compound and killed everyone inside. Shepherd ended up blowing up his entire facility to kill the two, however they were already out in the open and he struck down a lot of his people who were still in the facility. As he continued to be pursued and finally tried to escape in a helicopter, he was shot down by Price and his helicopter landed in the desert. After a very brief fight between him and Soap, he was about to shoot Soap, but Price was just able to knock his revolver out of his hand. As Price was knocked unconscious, Soap took the opportunity to pull out with the knife Shepherd had jammed into him and throw it in Shepherd’s face. Just as Shepherd looked up, he was hit in the eye by the knife and died instantly.
