Vladimir A. Makarov (Russian: Влади́мир Р. Мака́ров, * October 04, 1970, Ivanovo, Russia; † January 21.
2017 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates) is the leader of an ultranationalist terrorist organization.
He is one of the main antagonists in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and the main antagonist in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. His organization is responsible for numerous attacks, including the detonation of a nuclear bomb that claimed the lives of 30,000 people and an attack on Moscow airport.
The attack on Zakhaev International Airport, Moscow
Makarov was hired by the ultra-nationalists in the 1990s and rose to become one of the most important men in that faction. He detonated the nuclear bomb that killed thousands of U.S. Marines. Makarov was the leader of the ultranationalist terrorist group after the death of Imran Zakhaev, who were already hailed as heroes in Russia. After being hired by a U.S. general named Shepard, he carried out an attack on Moscow International Airport and killed an undercover CIA agent named Allen shortly before escaping. Afterward, Russian FSB officials found the agent’s body and declared war on America, perceiving the assassination as a declaration of war.

After kidnapping the Russian President, he took control of the Russian troops that were attacking all of Europe after losing the battle in the United States. He blackmailed the president to reveal the nuclear missile launch codes or he would kill his daughter. He thus wanted to end the war and take revenge on Europe, since he blamed Europe for the war in the East. After escaping an attack in Prague, he retreated to Dubai at the end of the war with his still loyal men, where Price and Yuri were later able to find and kill him. The reason was the assassination of John MacTavish in Prague. Shortly before his death, he was still able to shoot Yuri, however, after that Price was still able to put a steel cable around Makarov’s neck and make the floor collapse, so Makarov was hanged a short time later.
Appearance
Vladimir Makarov has two different eye colors, of which the right iris is green and the left is blue (iris heterochromia). He also has a scar on his mouth, dark brown hair and a beard. His height is 1.80 meters and his weight is 83 kilograms.
