Heroes (Dota 2)
The heroines and heroes (original: “Heroes”) are the primary playable entities in DotA and Dota 2. In a game, each player takes control of one of the 112 playable heroines and heroes. Each hero and heroine is a character with different attributes, abilities and roles. Each heroine and hero can also be categorized by the default attacks, which happen either in melee or ranged attacks.
Valve plans to develop their own heroines and heroes for Dota 2 after the release of the classic heroines and heroes from DotA Allstars, as Erik Johnson previously announced in a 2014 interview. After the release of Arc Warden in December 2015 and that of Underlord in August 2016, the first hero developed exclusively for Dota 2, Monkey King, appeared in winter 2016, although it was at least based on concepts from classic DotA and appeared there as an event boss opponent. The Dueling Fates update announced in August 2017 confirmed the release of two completely redesigned heroes.
Lifestealer: “My bonds are broken!”
N’aix, the Lifestealer, is a strength hero from DotA and Dota 2. He belongs to the Dire and is a melee unit. In the game, he can take the role of a Carry, Durabler, Jungler and Escaper. His abilities allow him to partially regenerate at the expense of his victims. Through the passive ability Feast, he can steal health from opponents in combat and even make this possible for allied units through Open Wounds. Open Wounds also slows down the victim it hits, with the slowing being strongest at first and gradually decreasing. Rage lets Lifestealer make himself immune to magic and increase his own attack speed. Lifestealer’s Ultimate lets him infest the body of an allied hero or a creep and can theoretically remain in it indefinitely unless killed. If it leaves the infested body by Consume, the body is destroyed if it is a Creep and absorbed by Lifestealer. In any case, however, surrounding units of the enemy are damaged in the process. The Ultimate cannot be improved with Aghanim’s Scepter, but gives Lifestealer the ability to devour an allied Hero and thus hide him.
Lifestealer- Hype
If Lifestealer ever gets close to its prey, there is little it can do to save them. It moves undetected as a parasite with a creep or an allied hero and leaves this host explosively in the vicinity of an enemy. Before his surprised opponents can regain their composure, he then tears them to pieces with his claws.

“In the dungeons of Devarque, a sorcerer thirsting for revenge lay in chains, plotting his escape. He shared his cell with a gibbering creature known as N’aix, a thief cursed by the Vile Council with a long life so that his life sentence for theft and fraud would be as punishing as possible. As the years passed, not only did his chains disintegrate, but so did his mind; N’aix retained no memories of his former life and no longer thought of escape. The sorcerer saw in him the perfect helper for his plans and devised a spell to transfer his life force into N’aix’s body, with the intention of forcing him to sacrifice himself in an impetuous frenzy while the sorcerer would return to his body and slip away unnoticed. Instead, the wizard found himself in a vortex of madness so powerful that it carried away all his plans and broke his will. Coming to consciousness from the sudden infusion of fresh life, N’aix woke up from his insane nightmare and followed the disembodied voice that filled his head and had only one thought: escape. At that moment, Lifestealer was born. The creature infested the guards and soldiers of the dungeon with its mind, forcing them to open locks and stab their comrades to create a path to freedom. Lifestealer still wears the broken shackles as a warning that no one can hold him against his will, but he remains a prisoner inside. Two souls inhabit the same body – a nameless creature of cruel cunning and its master, whose orders it pretends to follow.”
