Heroes Dota 2 – Techies

Techies: “Measurements made. Bombs built. Powder’s dry. Okay, let’s blow something up!”

Squee, Spleen and Spoon, the Techies Demolitions (Technician Destroyers), are an intelligence hero from DotA and Dota 2. In the game, they can take on the role of Disablers and Nukers. The trio is a ranged Radiant hero and can use various forms of invisible mines through which they can secure areas. However, similar to Observer Wards, for example, the Techies’ mines do not remain permanently in place even when unused. Land Mines allows the Techies to place up to 20 invisible mines that explode when enemy units approach or destroy them. Stasis Trap works similarly, but can only set one mine that stuns enemy units when activated. While Stasis Trap detonates after a short delay, it causes a relatively long stun even at the first stage. Suicide Squad, Attack!, the third ability of the Techies, lets them blow themselves up, causing them to die but deal great damage to enemy units and also buildings. Kills achieved with Suicide Squad, Attack! are credited to the Techies, while their deaths are considered suicide and therefore do not award gold or experience points to enemy heroes. You can always set whether Suicide Squad, Attack! should be used automatically or only after targeted activation. Remote Mines, the ultimate of the Techies, works similarly to Stasis Trap. However, the mines used here do not activate automatically, but only after Focused Detonate has been used. Aghanim’s Scepter increases the range and damage of Remote Mines. Its release was originally announced for late August 2014[1] and came with the Techies update.

For the Techies, battle is a matter of mischief. Giggling while they lay their traps throughout the battlefield, their explosive mines, stunning traps, and remote-activated bombs are often more than enough to surprise careless foes or shatter an enemy offensive.

“In the storied history of Dredger’s Bight, no establishment has been more reviled than Techies Demolitions. However, Dredger’s Bight no longer exists either. So does Toterin. Or even Trapper Town. In fact, in following the history of Techies Demolitions, one might notice that towns tend to disappear shortly after the Techies show up. Just like every inevitable Techies disaster, Dredger’s Bights’ extinction began with an invention. Tasked with developing a safer way to detonate explosives in the mines below, pyrotechnic talents Squee, Spleen and Spoon came up with their most outlandish creation yet: a button that, when pressed, would trigger a distant device to ignite a fuse. Overzealous to test their invention, the trio stuffed barrel after barrel of flame salt explosives and stacked the newly developed remote detonator bombs in every corner of their tiny workshop. From this stockpile, they removed a single charge and buried it in a distant field. After taking cover in a ditch, Spleen pressed the fuse button. But after a moment passed, nothing happened. In confusion, he stood up and pressed the button again and again until finally an explosion tore a hole in the field. Encouraged, Squee and Spleen straightened home when they were suddenly knocked over by a massive sonic and blast wave. Stunned and with ears ringing from the surprising blast, they moved into the gloomy haze only to find a smoking ruin where their workshop once stood. Chunks of wood and stone were still falling from the sky as the gaping crater before them expanded into an ever-deepening pit. All of Dredger’s Bight shook and gradually began to slide down into the underground mines as its inhabitants fled in panic. So they sat on the edge of their sinking home, grinning and giggling, excited by the new possibilities and blind to the contempt of their former neighbors. There was only one question on their minds: how could they cause an even greater explosion?”

Heroes (Dota 2)

The heroines and heroes (original: “Heroes”) are the primary playable entities in DotA and Dota 2. In a game, each player takes control of one of the 112 playable heroines and heroes. Each hero and heroine is a character with different attributes, abilities and roles. Each heroine and hero can also be categorized by the default attacks, which happen either in melee or ranged attacks.

Valve plans to develop their own heroines and heroes for Dota 2 after the release of the classic heroines and heroes from DotA Allstars, as Erik Johnson previously announced in a 2014 interview. After the release of Arc Warden in December 2015 and that of Underlord in August 2016, the first hero developed exclusively for Dota 2, Monkey King, appeared in winter 2016, although it was at least based on concepts from classic DotA and appeared there as an event boss opponent. The Dueling Fates update announced in August 2017 confirmed the release of two completely redesigned heroes.
