The heroines and heroes (original: “Heroes”) are the primary playable entities in DotA and Dota 2. In a game, each player takes control of one of the 112 playable heroines and heroes. Each hero and heroine is a character with different attributes, abilities and roles. Each heroine and hero can also be categorized by the default attacks, which happen either in melee or ranged attacks.

Valve plans to develop their own heroines and heroes for Dota 2 after the release of the classic heroines and heroes from DotA Allstars, as Erik Johnson previously announced in a 2014 interview. After the release of Arc Warden in December 2015 and that of Underlord in August 2016, the first hero developed exclusively for Dota 2, Monkey King, appeared in winter 2016, although it was at least based on concepts from classic DotA and appeared there as an event boss opponent. The Dueling Fates update announced in August 2017 confirmed the release of two completely redesigned heroes.

Treant Protector: “Trees are not so good with motion, you know.”

Rooftrellen, the Treant Protector, is a strength hero from DotA and Dota 2. He is a melee unit and belongs to the Radiant. In the game he can take the role of a Durabler, Initiator, Lane-Support and Disabler. Treant Protector has both the highest base attack strength and the lowest attack rate in the game. Treant Protector’s abilities make him especially useful for supporting allies, as he can protect and heal them, as well as incapacitate enemies. Nature’s Guise allows Treant Protector to make himself or an ally invisible when near trees, and Treant Protector can cast abilities even in this state. With Leech Seed, Treant Protector can both damage enemies and heal allies. If he plants his Leech Seed into an enemy unit, the unit takes damage and sends it to Treant Protector’s surrounding allies as healing. His third ability, Living Armor, makes Treant Protector the only hero in the game that can heal friendly buildings, as it coats allied units or buildings with a protective and healing layer. Treant Protector’s Ultimate Overgrowth almost completely incapacitates enemies within a radius, leaving them defenseless and unable to flee. Aghanim’s Scepter does not directly enhance Overgrowth, however, but adds the ability Eyes of the Forest, which can be cast on trees and gives additional vision as well as enhancing the Ultimate’s effect.

Treant Protector- Hype

Treant Protector is ever the benevolent ally, sprouting regenerating armor for his cohorts and their fortifications alike. Emerging unseen from among the trees, he binds foes with overgrowth as he leeches health from enemies and into nearby allies.

“Far to the west, in the mountains beyond the valley of Augury, lies an eerie power hidden deep in the dense forests. Rumor has it that the things that grow here take on outlandish forms. It is a sacred place, created by the forces of nature, which shall remain unknown and hidden. Of numerous traps and dangers are these lands – omnivorous grasses, wildly interbred fauna, and poison-spewing plants – but nothing matches the menace of the mighty Treant Protectors. These timeless, titanic beings are charged with keeping the peace in this dangerous place. They ensure that nothing from within penetrates without cause, and nothing from without steals its secrets. For an eternity they cared for the sacred ground unmolested, and the changes in the world around them penetrated their consciousness only dully. But, as seems inevitable, with each winter the knowledge of the outside world grew around this untamed land, and no less the boldness of its inhabitants. Soon they approached, bringing tools to cut and fire to burn, and the Treants began to ponder who these fragile, industrious creatures might be. What had become of the wild, green world? An age of questions and doubts dawned, thousands of summers of eternal tradition were called into question as more and more of the off-worlders passed away and became one with the earth. Finally, when the last element of the forest had spoken, curiosity outweighed caution. It was decided: a single Protector would be sent to the outer world, charged with wandering until the glaciers began to grow again, to study the changing world and its inhabitants, and to discover what unknown dangers might threaten their sacred place.”
