New year, new League of Legends. At least that’s what we’re hoping for. This year, there are a few changes in the Gap, such as two new dragons inspired by Piltover and Zaun, a new bounty system, and new items.
With so many innovations, our heads are spinning. Stop for a moment. Okay. There are also a few things that have remained the same. The patch notes are still published twice a week. And today we’ll take a look at the first patch of 2022 – LoL Patch 12.01.

There are a few champions that were just too strong in Pre– Season . This is where Riot lets a bit of parental hardship take over, so players can have a better time in the Jungle and Bot Lane.
Champion Changes
Sona Base Armor now only +3 per level and E-Cooldown reduced to 14 seconds.
Rek’Sai E – Furious Bite Physical Damage 55/60/65/70/75 (+85% bonus AD) and E – Tunnel Cooldown 26/24/22/20/18 seconds.

On the other hand, there were two champions at the lower end of the win rate spectrum. These champions will receive a small buff from Riot to give them a good start to 2022.
Champion Changes
Diana Passive AP recovery increased from 40% to 50% and passive damage against monsters increased from 250% to 300%.
Gangplank Q Cooldown reduced from 5 seconds to 4.5 seconds and mana cost reduced from 60-40 to 55-35
Item changes in LoL Patch 12.01
Four items are in the first patch plan of the new year. Which items will be generated? At least 3 will get a nerf (thanks Riot). Only one will be buffed in LoL Patch 12.01.

Force of Nature The buff can now be stacked to 7 seconds instead of 5 and at max stacks the magic damage is now reduced by 25% instead of 20%.

Eclipse For melee champions, the cooldown increases from 6 to 8 seconds.
Immortal Shieldbow AD reduced from 55 to 50, passive shield strength reduced from 300-800 to 257-650
Wits End magic resistance reduced from 50 to 40. There is a new item path: Hartbound Axe + Null Magic Mantle + Pickaxe.
Teleport changes in LoL Patch 12.01
Teleport was updated in Pre– Season and it looks like these changes will go live with the first patch of the year. This means that top laners will no longer be able to teleport to Minions or Wards before the 14th minute of the game.
After 14 minutes, Teleport will change to “Unleashed Teleport.” You will then be able to use it as before. This will affect the meta on the top lane quite a bit, because players will no longer exclusively use this Summoner Spell. It’s also kind of logical. The only benefit Teleport has had so far has come from simply teleporting to the lane early.
When is LoL Patch 12.01 coming out?
The official release date for LoL Patch 12.01 is January 5, 2021, which means you’ll be able to try out all the changes on the PBE server starting tomorrow.
