Maps Call of Duty – Hotel

Hotel is a multiplayer map from the Escalation DLC in Call of Duty: Black Ops. Originally, the map was supposed to appear in the main

game, but with a slightly different look. In the end, it was cancelled, reworked and released with the DLC.

Overview

Hotel is located in Cuba and set in a resort that has pools, a casino, and three elevators. The elevators only move back and forth between two floors. Each elevator only opens on one side per floor, meaning it does not have two exits.

There are many places on the map for ranged combat, such as the two windows that look out onto the bar in the center of the hotel, where it’s best to play as a sniper or with a long-fire assault rifle like the M16. Still, there are alleys that run along the sides from one end of the map to the other. In the alleys, you can play great with submachine guns or shotguns and stay out of sight of the snipers at the windows.

The two competing teams simply spawn at one end of the map each, which means that the battles pretty early in the match boil down to fighting from the two houses at a distance. Still, plenty of players try to cross the map as well, so it’s not a pure sniper map.

The interiors of the two buildings are similar in design to the rest of the map, meaning there is a lot of space, but you can also discover narrow rooms and staircases. In many rooms there are holes and passages that are simply overlooked by most players. As a result, there is a lot of camping on the map, especially in the hardcore game modes.

The view of the sky is pretty much unobstructed outside, so enemy planes are especially likely to be shot down. But the map’s structure is pretty similar to Highrise from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, so it’s still easy to hole up if you don’t have a ghost perk or a rocket launcher.

• Originally, the hotel was going to be called “Reyes”, as you can see in previously released screenshots, but upon release the name was changed to “El Royale”.
• When the player shoots the slot machines, they spit out money.
• The gold bars on the map get silver holes when you shoot at them.
• The coins that come out of the slot machines shrink after some time and then disappear.
• The elevators have a weight limit of three players. If four or more players want to use the elevator, the door simply opens again shortly after closing and the message “Maximum weight limit has been reached” appears on the screen.
• Grenades of all kinds just keep bouncing on the surface of the water when you throw them into the pool.
• If you place a piece of equipment on the corners of the hotel lettering, it simply falls all the way back down.
• The player can spin the wheel of fortune by shooting at it.
• It takes four hits of the elevator doors for the player to die as a result.
• There are three clocks in a room that show the player’s exact local time.
• In one of the buildings, a painting of Shangri-La hangs on the wall.
• When the player knifes the piano, it plays piano music for a very short time.

Call of Duty
