Italy, also known as Italy , is a hostage scenario map from Counter-Strike , Counter-Strike: Condition Zero , Counter-Strike: Source , and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive . It takes place in the streets of an Italian town. The original Counter-Strike map was created by Glen Cooper and Jaison Green and also used chickens as the first map in the series .
Construction
Italy is set in a small Italian town that consists largely of long side streets. In addition to long streets, the map is also defined by narrow, winding building corridors. Near the anti-terrorist spawn is a marketplace and in the middle is an apartment that can be entered from two sides. There is also a wine cellar near the terrorist spawn, but its position and, above all, size depends on the game. Up until Counter-Strike it was on the left side of the map, leading to the center from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive onwardsrather in the middle, diagonally opposite the apartment. Originally, the wine cellar was more of a longer corridor. The hostages are located on the map on the two floors of a small apartment building right next to the terrorist spawn, or one hostage in the apartment building and one in the wine cellar in CS:GO. The marketplace and the building next to the terrorist spawn are connected by a long corridor.

Counter Strike
Italy was originally released during the Counter-Strike beta period , on June 8th, 2000 to be precise. It was created by Glen Cooper and textured by Jason Green. The two makers were members of the [HOTSHEEP] clan. One of the most well-known elements of the map, which was later used on other maps as well, was the use of the first chickens , which were only used for ambience, but nevertheless developed great popularity among players.

Italy was released as the default map for CS:GO on August 21, 2012.
