With each – Season we get a whole lot of new content for our game, and that includes weapons. Here’s everything you need to know about the newest weapon in Apex Legends, the balancing nerfs that come with it, and the new loot we’ll be able to collect with the next – Season .
We’re in for the next wave of exciting content for Apex Legends. From new skins and heirlooms to the return of some popular locations to King’s Canyon. At the end of the day, Apex is also a shooter, so one piece of new content is particularly exciting. We’re talking about the weapons, of course. What can we expect in the new – Season ? What new weapons will we get? Will the balance have to be adjusted as well? Everything we already know can be found in this article.
Apex Legends – Season 13: New weapon
The new weapon we can perhaps look forward to in – Season 13 is an energy weapon called Nemesis, and it resembles the Havoc at first glance. At least the appearance is comparable, but in terms of performance, the Nemesis should be stronger. Here you can see the weapon in action on Reddit:
Of course, you have to keep in mind that it can still change quite a bit before launch. And since it’s an energy weapon, we assume that it will have some feature that makes it more annoying than the common heavy or light weapons.
Apex Legends – Season 13: New Loot on the Ground
There is only one change to the Loot for – Season 13 that we know of so far. The Spitfire is no longer a Care Package weapon, but will once again be found on the ground. Of course, this also means that it will get a slight nerf, because in its current state it’s definitely too strong for a gun that’s just lying around somewhere.
Apex Legends – Season 13: Weapon Balancing Changes
There is also something to talk about with regards to weapon balancing. In the Reveal Trailer for – Season 13, it appears that the “Selectfire Receiver” hop-up will be returning for the Prowlers. This is a golden hop-up that allows players to switch between burst and full auto. It was in the game a few – Season s ago, but was removed because it was way too OP. This would be a refreshing change for Prowler, which is about on par with Rampart in terms of pick rate, but this change is not yet confirmed.
In the Reveal Trailer for – Season 13, we see the Prowler firing fully automatically, but this could have been overlooked in the end by the animation team, who rather wanted to up the coolness factor of the video. We are not sure yet if SelectFire will really return, but we will keep you updated as soon as there is news from Respawn.
Apex Legends – Season 13: New upgrade stations for weapons
This is definitely pretty nice. The – Season 13 Reveal Trailer shows us a new game mechanic that will allow us to buy weapons and corresponding upgrades at certain bunkers. If you buy one of the weapons there or just get an upgrade, you will have to fight the new Spectre robot NPCs. This is sort of the “price” for the weapon you want. If you want an Alternator with gray attachments, you might only have to fight three Spectres, but if you want an R-301 with purple attachments, you’ll have to defeat a lot more Spectres.
You can see Bangalore run into one of these new bunkers and grab a weapon before Newcastle can stop her. Then the Spectres appear and start fighting the two of them. You can see on the computer in the background that this one must be controlling the whole thing. We assume that later in the game you will be able to interact with the computer, something like the purchase menu in Arenas.

What is “Apex Legends” about?
Scenario: In a distant future, bandits, adventurers, and outlaws settle their disputes in a sporting contest to the death. The setting is a fertile, industrially developed valley on the edge of the galaxy.
- Genre: Battle Royale shooter
- Game modes: survival battle between a maximum of 20 teams of three.
At its core, “Apex Legends” is a classic battle-royale shooter: up to 60 players land simultaneously in teams of three on the game map called “Kings Canyon” – a densely built-up, fertile valley with many accessible houses, bunkers and towers. Once on the ground, unarmed players must search their surroundings for equipment and ammunition. The goal of the game is to stay alive until the end.
To prevent players from hiding all over the map and waiting to automatically be the last one left, the game area shrinks every few minutes. The longer a round lasts, the smaller the area where survivors can move and hide.
Apex Legends refreshes this now classic game formula with some ideas that are unique to the genre: For example, before starting a round, players select one of eight heroes, each of which has two special abilities and facilitates certain play styles.
Bangalore, for example, is the classic soldier who can conceal her position with smoke grenades and call in an artillery strike in an emergency. The heroine Lifeline, on the other hand, can summon a drone to heal teammates – or directly order the delivery of high-value weapons and equipment via aerial drone. In-game purchases: “Apex Legends” allows the purchase of cosmetic items and new heroes either by means of in-game currency, which can be earned for free in every round, or with real money. The real-money currency “Apex Coins” can be purchased in five different amounts: The smallest possible amount is 1000 Apex Points for around 9.99 euros, while the largest pack with 10,000 Apex Points content costs 99.99 euros.
The developer emphasizes that it is not possible to buy game advantages with the help of real money: You can only use it to customize the appearance of the heroes, it says, or purchase new heroes.
Age rating: “Apex Legends” does not have a youth rating (USK 18).
Which technical terms should you know?
Respawn Beacon: If a player is shot down, the team members who are still alive have the opportunity to bring the fallen comrade back into the game: Each eliminated player leaves behind a so-called Respawn Banner, which can be collected by the players of the own team and handed in at one of 28 Respawn Beacons, certain locations on the map. If this succeeds, the fallen player returns to the game.
Jumpmaster: At the beginning of the game, one of the maximum three players of a team always takes on the role of the jumpmaster. He decides when and where his team enters the game area.
Ping: Using the middle mouse button, players can alert their teammates to interesting locations in the game world or enemies. These pings are a valuable tool for communicating quickly and efficiently within the team.
