UPDATES FOR RANKED MATCHES

Free role selection now available in ranked matches

Starting with – Season 23, both role selection and free role selection will be available in ranked matches. There will be separate queues, so teams from role selection will not play teams from free role selection. Free role selection will have its own level of play (SN) and leaderboard, separate from role selection’s role-specific SNs and leaderboards.

Adjustments to – Season -long placement matches for players with high SN.

Beginning with – Season 23, players will be able to reach a maximum SN of 3,900 after completing their placement matches in a – Season . To keep matches as fair and exciting as possible, players will be assigned to other players with similar skill levels, as before. As they complete more and more matches over the course of each current – Season , their SN will slowly increase to a value that matches their current skill level.

This change addresses some of the problems that SN decay was originally intended to solve. It is significantly more positive, as you will be rewarded for being active and playing a lot of games, instead of being penalized for not being active enough. It is no longer possible to achieve a very high SN just by completing five placement matches at the end of a – Season . This also means that in very high level matches there may be greater differences between the SNs of similarly strong players than in past – Season s, as the SN is more dependent on the number of matches played during the – Season .

HELDUPDATES

ASHE
Since the last improvements to Ashe’s gun, her damage has increased considerably. By weakening Dynamite a bit, she will do most of her damage with her gun while dealing a bit less damage overall.
	Dynamite Cooldown increased from 10 to 12 sec.

BRIGITTE
The ability to increase maximum hit points is very powerful and too efficient in combination with the additional healing of the repair set. Brigitte’s barrier shield will now provide more protection initially and will be able to intercept more projectiles, but in return will be unavailable for longer after destruction.
	Repair Set No longer grants additional armor hit points.
	Barrier Shield The maximum hit points have been increased from 200 to 250. The regeneration rate has been reduced from 100 to 85 hit points per second. The cooldown after the shield is destroyed has been increased from 3 to 5 sec.

D.VA
These buffs should make D.Va feel more fluid and responsive.
	Fusion Cannons Movement speed is now reduced by 40% (previously 50%).
	Defensive Matrix Cooldown reduced from 1.5 to 1 sec.
	Microrockets The activation delay has been reduced from 0.5 to 0.25 sec.

JUNKRAT
These changes should make for a better gaming experience with Junkrat. You can now make some jumps with the Remotely Detonated Mine again, which were not possible since its projectile speed was increased.
	Remotely detonated mine The triggering delay has been reduced from 0.156 to 0.1 sec.
	Kamikaze Tire The time required to regain control of Junkrat after the explosion has been reduced from 1.5 to 0.9 sec.

CORRECTED ERRORS

General

• Fixed a bug related to the Taiwanese patch notes.
• Fixed a bug that caused certain ultimate ability spells to play in both the allied and enemy team versions.

Heroes

Ashe

• Fixed a bug that caused a shadow to be displayed incorrectly on the hood of the Little Red Riding Hood skin.

Lúcio

• Fixed a bug that allowed Lúcio to activate his healing boost while he was stunned.

Reinhardt

• Fixed a bug where the Fire Strike was invisible to allies.

Roadhog

• Fixed a bug that allowed Roadhog to draw Baptiste’s life support field.

Wrecking Ball

• Fixed a bug where Wrecking Ball could hit enemies with one-balls much more often than intended.

OVERWATCH

Overwatch is a team-based 6vs6 shooter that was released on May 24, 2016. Overwatch stays true to the true style of Blizzard’s previous titles. It was developed by Jeff Kaplan and is considered a “new concept” shooter in the FPS genre. The game was officially unveiled at BlizzCon along with 12 heroes on November 7, 2014.

The story of Overwatch is set on a highly fictionalized future version of Earth. In a time where humans and robots, which are called Omnics, live together (Chris Metzen hinted that the story deals with this very robot race). 30 years before the time when Overwatch takes place, the so-called “Omnic Crisis ” occurred. The robots, once helpers of humans, rebelled against their creators for reasons as yet unknown and triggered a worldwide chaos. Faced with the imminent destruction of human civilization, the best soldiers of all nations came together to form a program called “Overwatch”.

Their job was to protect the world from the Omnics, which they succeeded in doing. For the next 25 years, they were the protectors of the planet, united in an international coalition. Some agents stayed, some were replaced, but at some point something changed: the Overwatch disintegrated. However, 5 years later after this event, incidents with Omnics are again accumulating, a worldwide terrorist organization also seems interested in destabilizing the world order. A new crisis is looming. At this point, your career as an Overwatch agent begins.
