The Temple of Anubis is one of the most popular maps in Overwatch. Thanks to its manageable size, it makes for fast and action-packed battles, especially in two places. In our guide, we’ll show you these points and explain in detail what to expect on the map.
To stand a chance in the battles of Overwatch, you need to know not only your hero, but also the map on which you are fighting. In our guide to the Temple of Anubis, we will show you the most important locations and how to use them to gain an advantage for your team. In addition to the most important positions for snipers and turrets, we’ll tell you the best side paths to use to flank the enemy team. Overwatch: Temple of Anubis
If you like hard and fast action, you’ll be happy about any visit from the Temple of Anubis. One after the other, the attackers have to capture two points to decide the game in their favor. Especially the back point is a tough nut to crack. If the defenders act in a coordinated manner, then the attackers have little chance. Therefore, the map was also revised several times to make life easier for the attacking heroes. New flanks were opened and the focal points were somewhat equalized. Thus, the attack is still far from being a foregone conclusion, but the chances are now more balanced. Fast, agile heroes have advantages. Those who stubbornly hold their position will be sent to the dirt in a few seconds. There are exceptions, however. On Temple of Anubis there are some spots where attacker snipers work well. However, this only works against heroes who can be lured. If the defenders act very defensively, the snipers won’t be of any use here.

Overwatch: Temple of Anubis – First Conquest Point
Room a medipack is waiting, which brings you back to full health. Ideally, you should wait with your breakthrough until your teammates also attack. Then you can possibly use the flank path in their back without being seen and you also have the element of surprise on your side.
Temple of Anubis: Point 4 – Risky Position
This small elevation is usually where the first defenders stand. Torbjörn’s towers, bastions or other heroes with strengths at short range can often be found here on the defensive. However, the position is risky, because attackers can easily flank you, as we explained in point 3. But even the attacking heroes are not safe here. They are often killed by the defenders on even higher positions.
Temple of Anubis: Point 5 – Into the fray
Behind the first archway on the right side is a small room where attackers can take cover for a short while on their way to the first point. However, most defenders will therefore equip the room with mines and self-shooting devices in advance. And even if not, only melee fighters should venture in there. Preferably together with a supporter, as rockets and grenades of the defenders will surely come flying into the room from the outside.
Temple of Anubis: Point 6 – Whoever comes out gets shot
On the floating ship at the starting point of the attackers, heroes like Widowmaker or Pharah like to settle down to take aim at advancing defenders. This works quite well against beginners, but experienced heroes won’t be lured and won’t set foot in front of the archway. You can still try it. If it doesn’t work, change the hero and go on the offensive.
Temple of Anubis: Point 7 – Death Zone de luxe
If you want to play a sniper as a defender, position yourself on this roof. From here, no attacker will get past your sights. Good shooters will take out most attacking heroes before they become a threat. However, you are also on display. So keep moving and be prepared for enemy fire. If you get shot at, jump down, grab the medipack from the lower floor and then swing back up to the roof.
Temple of Anubis: Item 8 – Short break and healing
The path from the gate to the second conquest point is one of the trickiest parts of all. Most of the time, the attackers have already lost their life points long before they arrive. It’s a good idea to take a short turn, look for cover under the bridge and collect the medipack there. But be aware that grenades or missiles of the defenders can fly into the bridge.
Temple of Anubis: Point 9 – Gate of Death
This archway is where the battle for the second conquest point really starts. The defenders point all their weapons at it and the attackers have to try to get through alive somehow. Unlike other places, however, there are plenty of evasion options here. Both the right and left flanks are ready to continue the attack. As an attacker, you only have a chance to make it to the point in one piece with a stable tank anyway.
Temple of Anubis: Point 10&11 – Through the cave in the back
The left flank from the attackers’ point of view leads you into a cave. There the upper hand lies with heroes who have their strengths in close combat. Reapers or McCree are almost impossible to defeat here, both in attack and defense. Also, beware of self-shooting devices that Symmetra likes to place on the walls and ceiling here to deter attackers.
Temple of Anubis: Point 12 – Fire protection!
If the attackers position a sniper on the ledge in front of the second archway, then this sniper can provide important fire protection for his team. While the range of fire is severely limited, in the heat of battle hardly any defending hero thinks to avoid this area. In addition, the defenders rarely use heroes with such a long range at this point, so they have nothing to counter the sniper in most cases.
Temple of Anubis: Point 13 – Flank for Ranged Fighters
On the right flank, as seen from the attacker, the heroes who tend to have their strengths at medium range come into play. With the exception of the corner you can see in the picture, you always have the enemy a few meters away from you. If you can aim well, you’re in the right place. But be careful, because both teams like to secure the corner with self-shooting devices, mines or traps. Tanks also like to choose this path, but only in the company of other heroes.
Temple of Anubis: Point 14 – Last bastion of the defenders
Behind the point to be captured is a small passage, through which you can actually only get from right to left. Nevertheless, many defenders use this area to set up their turrets or position themselves. With one step, they’re gone behind cover, and there’s a 50-50 chance they’ll reappear on the same side, which is enough to distract the attackers enough to put the advantage on the defenders’ side.

In Overwatch, heroes fight in a variety of locations around the world. From the technological wonder Numbani to the production center Volskaya, each map has its own layout and very specific conditions that your team must fulfill in order to win.
The battles of the heroes of Overwatch will be fought on the various maps. At the same time, the locations differ not only because of their scenery, but also their modes.
If you want to play successfully in Overwatch, you need to know not only the heroes, but also their surroundings. After all, the different maps offer a variety of flanks to stab the enemy team in the back, in addition to the main path. However, not all of them are suitable for everyone. We’ll also show you the most popular places for snipers and where turrets like to hide. Knowing the position of the medipacks is also a big advantage in the battle. We will show you all this in our detailed map guides. For a better overview, we have divided the maps into the three game modes.
