Riot’s tactical shooter came out over a year ago, and in that time numerous agents have been added. The agent roster in Valorant now totals 16, but they aren’t evenly distributed among the four classes. Today we take a look at the best Valorant agents in each class.
What really sets Valorant apart from other competitive shooters is its solid mix of gunplay and skills. Some would call Riot’s title a cross between CS:GO and Overwatch, and they’re not necessarily wrong. Heroes in Overwatch have a specific role, abilities, and their own weapons. In Valorant, all weapons are available to everyone, so what really defines your strategy are the abilities of the agent you choose. Unfortunately, not all agents are created equal.
The best Valorant agents for each class
There are four classes in Valorant:
- Duelist
- Tactician
- Initiator
- Guardian
So what is the role of each class?
- Duelists excel in firefights and usually take the initiative when attacking.
- Tacticians are good at isolating an area of the map with utility while providing crowd control.
- Initiators can force the enemy team to retreat and make room for their own team.
- Guardians focus on the defensive aspect of the game and provide their team with information.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at the best Valorant Agents for each class.
Best duelist
Jett
Since the closed beta, Jett has been one of the favorites. Her abilities give players unmatched mobility and reward you for kill streaks. Her smoke may be mediocre, but at least she has one – unlike the other Duelists. Jett’s Ultimate is still one of the best in the game in terms of offense, and she’s the best agent if you want to use the Operators.
Best Tactician
Viper
She used to be garbage, but look at where the buffs have taken her. Viper has to manage resources, but once you get to grips with that, she’s pretty easy to use. She has access to a reusable smoke, a molly, and a wall that can cut the map in half. Then there’s their Ultimate, which is ideal for holding a location.
Best initiator
Sova
Similar to Jett, Sova has enjoyed great popularity for a year now, and we doubt that will change. He’s Russian, he’s efficient, and he’s fun to play. Sova’s equipment allows him, better than anyone else, to gather information and drive enemies out of hiding. Breach, for example, is only good at scaring enemies away.
Best Guardian
Sage
Sage is the most beginner-friendly agent in Valorant. She is the only agent on the roster who can provide consistent healing to teammates, and the only one who can bring back a fallen ally. Even after numerous nerfs, her abilities are still top notch and the wall is as annoying as ever.

What is Valorant?
Valorant initially appears to be a cross between CS:Go and Overwatch . A competitive shooter where two small teams compete against each other.
Your team is either ready to attack or defend, with the attackers placing a “stinger” (essentially a bomb) that the other team must then defuse or preferably prevent you from placing at all.
The attacking team can win by either eliminating the defenders or placing the stinger and then protecting it from defusing until the timer runs out. The defenders can similarly win by destroying the attackers before they have a chance to plant their stinger, or disarming the stinger after it has been planted.
Each team of five can play as both attackers and defenders during a game. Each game has a total of 25 rounds, with the first team to win 13 rounds declared the winner
