After last week’s patch disaster, the time has finally come: Valorant 1.11 is finally here and with it the new agent Skye. Hopefully all bugs are fixed…
There was talk of a “technical nightmare” last week when Riot had to undo their Valorant Patch 1.11. Instead of the new agent Skye, it was mainly numerous bugs and game errors that made the rounds in social networks. Those who were on the edge of an Omen Smoke got Sage’s textures thrown on the screen in wide format.
What certainly looked funny to us was a medium disaster for Riot. Only a little later, patch 1.11 was withdrawn and postponed. Now it is finally available and came to the European servers yesterday. So let’s recap what was supposed to headline in the latest patch – apart from the bugs.
New agent Skye
Valorant’s newest agent is called Skye. From everything we’ve seen so far, she definitely seems to outrank Sage. Besides strong utility, which she can use to flash and stun enemies, her E in particular could mutate into a game-changer. This is an AOE heal for your team that has a resource bar, similar to Viper’s poison.
Skye is therefore not entirely unjustifiably considered a very strong, if not overpowered character. So shortly after the patch, her win rate is 50.6%, which makes her currently the third most powerful agent in the game. To what extent she can overthrow the current meta will be seen in the coming weeks.
Nerfs for Killjoy and Cypher
Of course, the already available agents have been tweaked as well. Cypher’s good meta ranking might finally come to an end with patch 1.11. With the new changes, both his tripwire and camera will be disabled and revealed once he’s dead. Looking at his current win rate of 47.8%, he currently guests in second-to-last place among all agents.
Killjoy doesn’t get away without slight nerfs either. Both her turret and the nanoswarm now not only have a significantly shorter range, but also deactivate automatically as soon as Killjoy moves too far away from them. To compensate for this, the cooldown after canceling the abilities has been significantly reduced. At 49.5% win rate, it is currently in the lower mid-range.

What is Valorant?
Valorant initially appears to be a cross between CS:Go and Overwatch . A competitive shooter where two small teams compete against each other.
Your team is either ready to attack or defend, with the attackers placing a “stinger” (essentially a bomb) that the other team must then defuse or preferably prevent you from placing at all.
The attacking team can win by either eliminating the defenders or placing the stinger and then protecting it from defusing until the timer runs out. The defenders can similarly win by destroying the attackers before they have a chance to plant their stinger, or disarming the stinger after it has been planted.
Each team of five can play as both attackers and defenders during a game. Each game has a total of 25 rounds, with the first team to win 13 rounds declared the winner
