The current Valorant patch 3.01 came out on July 7. That means we have one more week until patch 3.02. Here are our predictions for Valorant Patch 3.02.
Valorant patches come out at a regular interval of two weeks. So far, there has only been one exception to this rule with patch 2.10, which was completely skipped by Riot. Update 3.02 for Valorant is scheduled for release on July 21, but we already have a wish list of things we’d like to see. Most of them even make sense… we promise!
What to expect in Valorant Patch 3.02
Valorant’s Episode 3 launched at the end of June and Patch 3.01 didn’t bring many changes. Riot reasoned as follows:
Patch 3.0 was like an oversized meal where we now sit down and let the food sink in.
Hopefully, two weeks after the first patch, the meal will finally be digested and we’ll get another decent update. So we’re excited to see what Valorant Patch 3.02 has to offer. Here are our predictions!
Yoru Buffs
Seriously, it’s about time. There’s been talk about Yoru Buffs for months, but we haven’t gotten one yet. Yoru is literally the shit, both in terms of pick rate and win rate. He certainly shines on certain maps and in some situations, but overall he is clearly worse than any other agent in his class. Will 3.02 be the patch that finally makes him playable? Also, maybe Riot isn’t just trying to buff the Japanese agent, but completely overhaul him. Could that be why it’s taking so long?
KAY/O Nerfs
Honestly, we all know that the KAY/O nerfs are already on their way. The newest agent in Valorant has shaken up the meta nicely. His signature ability is like Sova’s Recon Bolt, but on steroids. Not only does it give you information on how many enemies were affected in the radius, but they are also suppressed. Also, ZERO/POINT goes through walls, so there is literally no escape. If KAY/O really gets generated, there’s no doubt that Riot will start using his signature ability.
A replay system
This is what fans have been screaming for for ages. Riot has always claimed that Valorant will be the CS:GO killer and the next big Esports title, but over a year later the game still lacks a replay system. Really Riot? Let’s see if patch 3.02 finally delivers it.
Weapon Buffs / Economy Changes
Update 3.00 made some serious changes to the prices of numerous weapons and abilities in Valorant. All of these weapons were at the lower end of the tier list and simply making them cheaper was not the way to go in our opinion. So we expect more changes to some of the worse weapons and maybe some more price adjustments.
Honor system
This would actually be relatively simple to implement, but can make a big difference. Toxicity in online games is ubiquitous, and having an in-game option to praise players for sportsmanship and good plays is something that should definitely be in Valorant – especially considering the strong Esports aspect of the title. Such a system already exists in League of Legends, so Riot should know how it works.

What is Valorant?
Valorant initially appears to be a cross between CS:Go and Overwatch . A competitive shooter where two small teams compete against each other.
Your team is either ready to attack or defend, with the attackers placing a “stinger” (essentially a bomb) that the other team must then defuse or preferably prevent you from placing at all.
The attacking team can win by either eliminating the defenders or placing the stinger and then protecting it from defusing until the timer runs out. The defenders can similarly win by destroying the attackers before they have a chance to plant their stinger, or disarming the stinger after it has been planted.
Each team of five can play as both attackers and defenders during a game. Each game has a total of 25 rounds, with the first team to win 13 rounds declared the winner
