PoGO – Pokémon GO: Are Special Box, Superbox, Hyperbox worth it for Community Day?

The developers of Pokémon Go have released new content for Special Box, Super Box and Hyperbox just in time for the upcoming Community Day on October 21. For whom are the boxes worthwhile this time? We take a look at the prices and the goodies on offer.

There is new content for the Special Box, Superbox and Hyperbox in Pokémon Go, matching the Community Day, which rises on October 21, 2018 between 11 am and 2 pm, and lets you hunt for Tanhel. Now, as usual, the question arises as to who the contents of the boxes are primarily aimed at this time. In view of Community Day and the imminent release of Generation 4 in Pokémon Go, we can already say at the outset: These boxes are intended for the breeders among you, not for the raiders. Those who prefer to invest their time in raids are ill-advised to buy the boxes. But first, let’s take a look at the contents of the boxes:

The contents of the special box are okay and heavily geared towards Community Day. The three egg incubators would already cost 450 Pokécoins solo, and for the 30 extra coins you still get two Premium Raid Passes as well as Sanana Berries (for the candies) and 20 Hyperballs. However, the authors of Pokémon Go Hub think that Niantic could have been a bit more generous with the balls and the berries. True, but the price-performance ratio for the egg incubators and the nice bonus of Premium Raid Passes is okay. You’ll definitely save on the purchase if you find the machines and passes equally interesting.

The Superbox comes with five Super Brood machines and three Premium Raid Passes, supplemented by a lucky egg and smoke. Apparently, this package not only smells like Community Day, but also the Gen 4 release for Pokémon Go at the same time. You’ll save plenty of coins with the purchase if you can do something with the Raid Passes as well. And with the Super Brooders alone, you’re already getting a worthwhile deal…. but the Hyperbox is even tastier in that regard.

For 1,480 Poké Coins, the Hyperbox already offers 12 Super Incubators, which alone would cost 2,600 Poké Coins. In addition, there’s also Lock Modules and Star Pieces, which you can use to maximize your catch and stardust rate when the 4th generation is released. The 6 premium raid passes are a nice touch, but not worth mentioning on their own. Considering the fact that you’ll get a whopping 36 hatches for the 1,480 coins – if you have them – the box is worth it especially for those who want to have the Gen-4-Mon from Eggs in their collection quickly, or else trade them with friends.

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy.
