Finally, Pokémon Go has another dazzling special feature, as Shiny Lithomith comes into play with the event Beetle Crabbing 2020. In our quick guide, we summarize what other information and bonuses are available for the Beetle Crawl event.
The Pokémon Go solstice event is barely over, and the next promotion is already on the schedule. The Solstice festivities end on June 24, and the 2020 Beetle Scramble begins on June 26, 2020. This year’s event features a particularly dazzling guest, as Shiny Lithomith and its correspondingly dazzling evolution Castellith come into play.
Of course, the beetle Pokémon are the focus of the event, including Sichlor, Toxiped and Lithomith appear more frequently in the wild, in raids, in field research and from 5km eggs. In addition, there’s an extra raid day for a beetle, namely Pinsir will appear in the raids on June 28, 2020 between 11:00 and 14:00. Fittingly, you can again snag a bundle with three long-distance Raid Passes for one Pokécoin. Update: The developers of Niantic have canceled the Pinsir Raid Day. It is not yet known whether the bundle with the Remote Raid Passes will still be available in the store for a low price on Sunday.
With the bug crawl comes a few quirks for your smoke that will attract certain Pokémon more often at certain times. You can find the details below. A note about the start time: The developers at Niantic state in the German Pokémon Go blog that the event starts at 5:00 p.m. – this was also the case for the Solstice. However, the Solstice event already started at 08:00 on the corresponding day. We assume that this will be the same for the Beetle Crabbing.
- Event: Beetle Crabbing in Pokémon Go from June 26, 2020 at 08:00 to July 1, 2020 at 22:00.
- Beetle Pokémon like Sichlor, Toxiped, and Lithomith will appear more frequently in the wild, in Raid battles, and as rewards for Event-exclusive Field Research projects, and will hatch from 5-km eggs more often. If you’re lucky, you may even encounter an Iridescent Lithomith!
- Smoke attracts more Beetle Pokémon. Some Beetle Pokémon appear more frequently when you use smoke at certain times of day!
- From Friday, June 26 at 8am to Saturday, June 27 at 11:59pm (local time), more Nincada will be attracted by smoke.
- From Sunday, June 28 at 12pm to Monday, June 29 at 11:59pm (local time), more Waumpel will be attracted by smoke.
- From Tuesday, June 30 at 12pm to Wednesday, July 1 at 10pm (local time), more Sichlor will be attracted by smoke.
- Double Catch XP.

Pokémon GO
Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.
Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights
Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy.
