PoGO – Pokémon GO: Bisaflor with Flora statue is good in the current meta game

On Pokémon GO’s third Community Day on March 25, players will be able to evolve Bisasam into Bisaflor, which will then receive the special attack Flora Statue. Without Flora Statue, Bisaflor is more in the DPS midfield compared to other plant Pokémon. Today, March 25, 2018, is the third Community Day of Pokémon GO. During the event, you can catch the plant Pokémon Bisasam especially often. If you evolve Bisasam into Bisaflor during the event, it will receive the special attack Flora Statue. Whether this attack alone is worth the effort and what impact the ability has on Bisaflor’s role in the Pokémon GO meta-game, we now explain based on a comprehensive analysis of Pokemongohub.

In general, the Solar Beam attack is considered the best plant attack in the game, but the arrival of Flora Statue could change that. Flora Statue is a charged attack with two energy bars, 100 base power, and a cooldown of 2.8 seconds. However, Plant Pokémon are not currently among the best Pokémon types in the game, though some Plant Pokémon still make for solid attack machines.

Compared to, say, Kokowei or Gewaldro, Bisaflor has the lowest attack power (198 compared to Kokowei 223 and Gewaldros 223) and the lowest maximum CP (2568 compared to Kokowei 2916 and Gewaldros 2584). Thus, Bisaflor was previously significantly inferior to the other two most popular plant Pokémon in terms of attack.

However, the newly added attack Flora Statue is a very potent attack ability: combined with Tendril Strike, Flora Statue ranks first among plant attacks in DPS (25.68 DPS), and combined with Razor Leaf, it ranks third (23.28 DPS) behind Tendril Strike and Solar Beam (23.89 DPS).

Using various simulations, Pokemongohub’s dataminers tested the performance of Bisaflor with Tendril Strike and Flora Statue against an Aquana with Aquacnar and Nose Tail in sunny weather compared to Bisfalor with Tendril Strike and Solar Beam and Kokowei with Bullet Seed and Solar Beam. As a result, Bisaflor was able to outperform Kokowei at individual stages of combat, but was about five percent behind Kokowei in overall damage output. This puts Bisaflor in second place ahead of Gewaldro and behind Kokowei in terms of DPS with Vine Strike and Flora Statue.

When fighting Water Pokémon, however, Bisaflor has to compete for its place in the attack not only with Kokowei and Gewaldro, but also with Electric Pokémon like Zapdos and Raikou. In terms of time needed to win against Aquana in the Raid, Zapdos and especially Raikou are well ahead of Bisaflor and Kokowei without weather bonuses. However, because Plant Pokémon are resistant to Water attacks, they do more damage in the long run before they bite the dust themselves.

In a direct raid comparison, Bisaflor with Flora Statue pushes ahead in overall damage output because it deals more DPS as a two-bar charge attack, significantly shortening the time to victory. The gap between Kokowei as the best Plant Pokémon and Bisaflor with Flora Statue also narrows significantly.

Pokémon GO: Conclusion – Bisaflor’s Role in the Future Meta-Game

With Flora Statue being the strongest charged plant attack in Pokémon GO in terms of DPS, Bisaflor should receive a significant boost in the meta-game in the future. The gap to Kokowei narrows significantly, making Bisaflor a viable alternative in Raid battles. The fact that Flora Statue also has two charge bars means that the attack is also superior to the previous favorite, Solar Beam.
