Today, April 15, is the fourth Community Day in Pokémon GO. This time you can catch a special Voltilamm including the special attack Dragon Pulse. To make this event as successful as possible for you, we’ve put together a series of tips in our guide that will help you get ready for the fourth Community Day and your hunt for Voltilamm. Let’s go!
It’s that time again: Today, April 15, 2018, is the fourth Community Day in Pokémon GO. Once again, developer Niantic is giving you the opportunity to catch a special Pokémon, namely Voltilamm. If you evolve Voltilamm to Ampharos during the event (!), it will learn the special Dragon Attack Dragon Pulse. If you already have a Voltilamm, you can evolve it during the event to get the attack – you don’t have to catch a Voltilamm during the event and evolve it.
In Germany, the fourth Community Day will run from 11am to 2pm as usual. So you have three hours to collect enough bonbons to develop Voltilamm and take advantage of the other bonuses of the event. These include: three-hour lure modules, 75 percent reduced distance to hatch Pokémon eggs, and the Shiny variant of Voltilamm. Voltilamm can have between 760 and 823 CP when you catch it.
Overall, according to Pokemongohub, Asian trainers who have already started the event have noticed the following peculiarities of this community day:
- Euer only benefit from the reduced hatching time if you put them in the incubator during the event, not before.
- All Field Researchgs quests that involve catching Pokémon revolve exclusively around Voltilamm.
- The rate for Shiny Voltilamms appears to be similar to that for Shiny Pokémon from past Community Days.
- The spawn rate for Voltilamm is significantly lower than that of Pokémon from past Community Days.
- The catch rate for Voltilamm during the event is a whopping 50 percent – so even beginners shouldn’t have much trouble catching a Voltilamm or two.
Pokémon GO: Community Day – No. 4 – Recommended Items
If you’re heading to your favorite catching spot during Community Day, make sure you have the following items in your luggage:
- Pokéballs (don’t waste time collecting Pokéballs at Pokéstops during the event).
- Lure Modules
- Smoke
- Incubators
- Lucky Eggs and Star Pieces (especially useful because of the reduced incubation time of eggs – hatched eggs will give you lots of XP and stardust)

- To get the most out of this Community Day, also keep the following tips in mind:
- Be prepared to run longer distances to hatch your eggs and take full advantage of the route bonus.
- Get to your favorite catching spots early.
- Make sure you have your lure modules, lucky eggs, and star pieces activated for the entire event duration,
- Catch all the Pokémon you encounter.

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.
Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights
Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events).
