PoGO – Pokémon Go: Complete Hoenn research by Friday for Groudon!

If you want to grab a Groudon in Pokémon Go in a relatively easy way, you should complete the research Nostalgia Challenge 2020: Hoenn (if you haven’t already done so). This is because it is a Temporary Research that is only active until May 22, 2020 at 13:00. We also give you a few hints about the steps in the quick guide.

In Pokémon Go, players can grab some cool Pokémon via the Temporary Research of the 2020 Nostalgia Challenge – but they’ll have to get busy! As it is in the nature of the Temporary Research, it is only available for a certain period of time, which also applies to the Nostalgia Challenge 2020: Hoenn – by the way, you can find all the steps in the guide. You can only do it until Friday, May 22, 2020 at 13:00, because after that the Nostalgia Challenge 2020: Sinnoh will be activated. And who wants to miss out on Hoenn’s strongest ground fighter, Groudon?

However, some steps of the Temporary Hoenn Research are also a bit annoying to complete, such as when you’ve just sent gifts to all your friends and only unlock step 3 afterwards. Or if you’ve just fed your buddy and then only get to step 7. However, step 7 is also really annoying for many Pokémon Go players because you have to catch a ghost Pokémon for a task. Since the spawn rates of Hoenn Pokémon are currently increased, but there aren’t many Spirit Pokémon in Generation 3, you have to hope for the appearance of Shuppet, Zwirrlicht or Zobiris in the wild, especially in the evening hours, because Ninjatom only appears extremely rarely in the wild – if at all.

You may be lucky enough to encounter a Nebulak from field research (land 3 great rolls), but it shares its reward spawn spot with Liliep and Anorith. Therefore, also keep an eye out for Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 raids, as Twisting Light (Tier 1), Zobiris (Tier 2), and Banette (Tier 3) can appear in them. Also, try your luck with a PokéStop taken over by Team Go Rocket, because the bullies can definitely fight with ghosts, so you’ll have the opportunity to banish a Crypto Traunfugil into your Pokéball afterwards.

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps.
