PoGO – Pokémon Go: Decode Porygon - Event Special Research Guide

In Pokémon Go, the Community Day for Porygon will take place on September 20, 2020 between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm. To go with it, there’s a new special quest called Decode Porygon, which we’ll cover in this guide. And we’ll tell you which Pokémon Go events you should definitely take part in to get Up-Grade and Sinnoh Stone for the Porygon and Porygon2 evolutions!

The developers of Pokémon Go have distributed some important information in the run-up to Community Day in September 2020 with Porygon, not only about the event itself, but also about the important items Up-Grade and Sinnoh Stone. You need them to turn Porygon into Porygon2 and Porygon2 into Porygon-Z. If you want to benefit from Porygon-Z learning the exclusive attack Triplette during Community Day, you should roll up your sleeves before the event.

You’ll be able to earn all sorts of upgrades and Sinnoh Stones as part of the Limited Research for the Mega Battle Challenge, the Mega Buddy Challenge, and the Porygon Decode Purchase Special Research for Community Day. We’ll get into that in a moment, first the details on Porygon Community Day itself:

September 2020 Community Day with Porygon begins at 11:00 a.m. on September 20, 2020 and ends at 5:00 p.m. (local time).
During the event, triple capture XP is activated and smoke lasts for three hours.
Porygon will appear more frequently in the wild. If you’re lucky, you may even encounter an Iridescent!
If you evolve Porygon2 (the evolution of Porygon) between 11:00am and 7:00pm on September 20, 2020, your Porygon-Z will learn the attack Triplette. This attack will thus be introduced in Pokémon Go. In Trainer Battles, Triplette can lower the attack and defense of the opponent’s Pokémon.

In the store, you can buy a one-time Community Day box for 1,280 PokéCoins, which includes a Top Instant TM, 3 times Smoke, 6 Lucky Eggs, and 30 Hyperballs.
For $0.99, you can unlock a Community Day-exclusive special research: Decode Porygon. For this special research you will not receive a medal in the game.

It can be assumed that the special research Decode Porygon is based on steps of other special researches for Community Day. That’s why we have a list of the REAL steps and rewards for you below. As soon as Decode Porygon is activated in the game, we will check the information for accuracy and update it if necessary.

Let’s move on to the Up Grades and Sinnoh Stones that you can earn in the run-up to Community Day. It will be possible to earn a total of 5 Up Grades and 5 Sinnoh Stones up until Community Day and at the event itself.

During the Mega Battle Challenge from Friday, September 11, 2020 at 8am to Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 10pm (local time), all Trainers will be able to obtain an Up-Grade and a Sinnoh Stone by completing the Limited Research for the event.
On September 20, all Trainers can earn up to three Up Grades and Sinnoh Stones by completing the Temporary Research tasks.
Trainers with a ticket for the Community Day-exclusive “Decode Porygon” special research can earn an Up-Grade and a Sinnoh Stone by completing this special research.

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events).
