PoGO – Pokémon Go: Electrotastic - Event and Temporary Research Guide

An event around the most exciting (in the truest sense of the word) Pokémon will soon take place in Pokémon Go, namely the Electrotastic event! In our guide, we have the important information about the appearance of the new Pokémon Zapplardin, Mega Voltenso, and the Limited Research on Electrotastic in March 2021.

Next week, starting on March 16, 2021, it will be Electrotastic in Pokémon Go, because then the event of the same name will start, which holds three exciting news for the collectors among the trainers. Because with Electrotastic (not to be confused with Electrostatic ^^), the pocket monster Zapplardin comes into play, which in turn means that you can evolve it into Zapplarek – and then into Zapplarang, if the corresponding evolution item is in your possession. In the main series, you would need a thunderstone to do this, but that’s not available in Pokémon Go. Either the developers at Niantic will refrain from using such an item or bring it into the game fresh with Electrotastic – because during the event, the chance of getting development items from gifts is also increased!

In other news, Mega Voltenso will appear for the first time in Pokémon Go’s Raids. And you can expect a Limited Research on Electrotastic with steps and rewards related to Electric Pokémon, of course. Below you have all the basic information about the event, then we already create a guide to all the steps and rewards of the Electrotastic research in preparation. The information will be completed as soon as the event is live in the game.

Event Electrotastic in Pokémon Go starts on March 16, 2021 at 10:00 AM and ends on March 22, 2021 at 8:00 PM.
Electric Pokémon such as ALoLa Lesser Stone, Voltobal, Frizelbliz, and Flunschlik will appear more frequently in the wild. Also, keep your eyes peeled for Zapplardin, which appears for the first time in Pokémon Go!
The following Electric Pokémon hatch from 5-km eggs: Pichu, Elekid, Frizelbliz, Sheinux, Wattzapf, Zapplardin, and Flunschlik.
Exclusive Field Research Projects give you Pokéballs, Mega Energy for Ampharos and Voltenso, encounters with Electric Pokémon, and more.
A Limited Research around Electric Pokémon evolution and training will be available.
The following Pokémon will appear in Raid battles:
- Voltobal, Sheinux, Elezeba, Klikk, and Zapplardin appear in Level 1 Raid battles.
- ALoLa Raichu, ALoLa Georok, Magneton, and Ampharos appear in Level 3 Raid battles.
- Voltolos’ Animal Spirit Form appears for the first time in Level 5 Raid battles.
- Mega Voltenso appears in Mega Raids for the first time in Pokémon GO! Mega Dogemon and Mega Rexblisar will also appear in Mega Raids during this period.
During the event, the chance to get evolution items from gifts is increased!

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados).
