Making friends in Pokémon Go isn’t difficult, because fortunately there are now entire databases full of trainer codes that you can simply add to your account. This also helps when completing special research tasks, such as the current Misunderstood Prank for Hoopa.

Finding Pokémon Go friends isn’t as hard as you might think. Because there are now super many trainers worldwide who share their trainer codes with other players. Players also often reply to tweets from Pokémon Go developer Niantic with their trainer codes if you’re looking for a new friend.

Although some parts of Pokémon Go can be played perfectly well on your own, sometimes you need a new friend to complete a task in a special quest, such as the current – Season al quest Misunderstood Prank. And a new friend can be found quickly in Pokémon Go!

Finding friends in databases

As mentioned earlier, many trainers around the globe have already released their trainer codes, whether it’s to get raid invites for regional raid bosses or to pull some cool regionals out of 7k eggs. Visit for example the trainer code collection of Pokefans.net or the database PokemonGo-Freunde.de. Handy: The trainer code lists give you an overview of what you can expect from your new friend. Does the player send gifts? Does he invite you to raids, trainer battles or swaps? You can find out all that there.

Making friends on Twitter

Especially when special regional raid bosses are announced by Niantic, or when news goes around that there is something special happening somewhere in another region of the world, trainers also post their trainer codes in response to tweets from Niantic. Accordingly, it may be worth your while to follow the international Pokémon Go account @PokemonGoApp or the German account @PokemonGOdeu, studying the players’ responses. Most of the players don’t have any special requirements – and if you are inactive, don’t be sad if they kick you off the list. Some players already have a full friend list.

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events).
