PoGO – Pokémon GO: Giant Splash - Karpador Special Research Guide

In August 2020, the Community Day in Pokémon Go is dedicated to Karpador. The event itself will take place on August 8, 2020 between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm. Of course, as usual, you can catch Karpador as a Shiny if you’re lucky and teach Garados an exclusive attack. Rejoice, fans of the weakest and most pathetic Pokémon in the entire world, because the August 2020 Community Day in Pokémon Go is all about Karpador, as rumors had previously suggested! On August 8, 2020, between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm local time, Karpador will then increasingly appear in the wild, and if you’re lucky, you might even be able to snag an iridescent specimen. Or 30. Furthermore, there is a triple stardust bonus for catching Pokémon as part of the event; in addition, smoke lasts for three hours.

Of course, the Karpador evolution Garados can learn an exclusive attack on Community Day between 11:00 am and 7:00 pm, namely Wet Tail. This will happen automatically if you evolve Karpador within the time period. In the Pokémon Go store, you’ll find, for one thing, a Community Day box that will cost you 1,280 Pokécoins and that contains 30 Hyperballs, a Top Charge TM, six Star Pieces, and a Smoke. So the contents of the box have gotten more reasonable this time around, and especially with the stardust catch bonus, the star pieces do really well.

On the other hand, you can buy the special Community Day research in the store for 0.99 euros, which is called “Giant Splash”. Attention. The individual steps and rewards are not yet officially known, but they are very similar to the past Community Day special researches. Therefore, we will give you an overview of the steps and possible rewards in the guide below. We will of course update the information when Giant Splash is available – especially because Karpador, unlike previous Community Day pocket monsters, does not have two evolutions. Furthermore, you need 400 candies to evolve a Karpador. Thus, it can’t be assumed that you shouldn’t evolve more than one Garados to complete the special research. After all, you can earn more candies through special field research. By the way, you can’t get the event ticket at the moment (July 29, 2020).

Update from August 6, 2020: Ticket: Giant Splash is now available in the store and costs 0.99 euros – apparently the developers of Niantic have once again come up with a different name for the research than they previously communicated – now the research is no longer called A Gallant Splash, but Giant Splash ^^

Update from August 8, 2020: All steps for the Karpador special research are known and we have updated both the steps and the rewards for you. By the way, via the event field research, for which you should catch three Karpador, you will receive six Karpador candies each upon completion. Have fun!

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy.
