PoGO – Pokémon Go: GO Fest Skill Challenge - Research Guide

In Pokémon Go, the Pokémon Go Fest Temporary Research is coming up! In our guide to the Temporary Research Skill Challenge for GO Fest, we summarize all the information about the rewards and the steps. Look forward to Piccolente, a Star Piece, and a Flying Pikachu!

As part of the festivities leading up to Pokémon Go Fest 2020, and also peppered with activities for Pokémon Go’s 4th Anniversary and the Summer Event, you can expect three Temporary Researches, the GO Fest challenges. In this guide to the limited-time Special Research Ability Challenge for GO Fest, we summarize all the info we already know for you and also note what we need to do for the three steps to enjoy encounters with the new Gen 5 Pokémon Piccolente and a flying Pikachu, among others.

What exactly you need to do for the steps from Ability Challenge to GO Fest is not known at this point, though – even dataminers haven’t stumbled across any info on the tasks yet. But we already know that the Temporary Research includes three steps and that completing it will unlock the top GO Fest Skill Challenge with additional tasks. The latter, however, is not time-limited. Whew!

Of course, the dates for the Temporary Research are also known: It starts on July 3, 2020 at 08:00. The GO Fest skill challenge will then be available until July 8, 2020 at 22:00 – so you have not quite a week to complete the steps. Below we summarize for you which bonuses are also active, because during the GO Fest skill challenge, the Pokémon Go 4th Anniversary event is also active. Attention! After that, we’ll list the steps for the Temporary Research for you, which we’ll then add tasks and rewards to as soon as it’s available in the game.

Update from July 3, 2020: All info is out by now, have fun with the Go Fest: Ability Challenge! We’ve fixed a typo in the Go Fest: Top Skill Challenge; it’s 50 simple fabulous rolls, not great ones.

The following bonuses will be active from July 3, 2020 at 08:00 until July 8, 2020 at 22:00:

Flight-type Pokémon and Pokémon with Party Hats will appear in the wild, hatch from eggs, and appear in Raid battles.
If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Dusselgurr Iridescent!
Piccolente appears in the wild and hatches on 5k eggs.
Flying Pikachu appear in the wild and in Raid battles. If you’re lucky, you may even encounter an Iridescent!
Also, Research to Launch is available this week for all Trainers who missed it during last year’s Anniversary Celebration. So remember to open the app during this period to get the special research. This special research is designed to help you catch up with other trainers. As a result, you’ll receive plenty of stardust and XP rewards, as well as some exciting Pokémon encounters.

Raid Weekend with Ho-Oh (Tier 5) will take place from July 3, 2020 at 08:00 to July 6, 2020 at 10:00.

Catch 30 Pokémon – Reward: 300 Stardust
Land 10 good throws – Reward: 10 x Superball
Send 20 Pokémon – Reward: 20 x Pokéball

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events).
