You’ve probably noticed that the research feature has been added to Pokémon GO. This allows you to complete countless tasks for Professor Willow, including “a mysterious discovery”. In return, you’ll be rewarded at the end with a powerful tool that lets you see a special monster: Mew. We’ll explain what you need to do in each quest step here.
You’ve probably already noticed the small binoculars in the bottom right corner of Pokémon GO. For all of you who haven’t stopped by for a while: This is where Professor Willow asks you to help him with his field and special research. The field research is a kind of daily quest that you complete in order to unlock further tasks at Pokéstops. The special variant “A Mysterious Discovery” is nothing more than a series of missions, at the end of which you’ll find a tool that will help you make a very special monster appear: the legendary Generation I Pokémon Mew.
Of course, you can expect to work your way through a barrage of small talk with Professor Willow before things really get down to business – and that’s with each new task progression. But what you actually have to do in the eight-part quest series to finally be allowed to face the little Pokémon, we have summarized for you below:
Pokémon GO: 1st quest section
Professor Willow greets you and chats about how long it’s been since you’ve seen each other and what a great trainer you’ve become. He asks for your help in calibrating his equipment. Here’s what you need to do:

Pokémon GO: 3rd Quest Section
Professor Willow lets you share in his joy, because apparently there are indeed signs of Mew. In a jungle in the south, a Pokémon was spotted that is said to be mystical and has a variety of different attacks. Therefore, experts believe that Mew should be the ancestor of all Pokémon. Here are your tasks in this section:

Through your progress so far, you’ve allowed Willow to narrow down the location of Mew. Apparently, the mystical Pokémon was even right near you not too long ago. One guess would be that Mew may have been disguising itself as another Pokémon – so you should take a closer look at monsters that have this ability:

Apparently shapeshifting is not what Willow suspected. Instead, he found out that Mew can turn invisible. In order to find the Pokémon anyway, you should develop a powerful tool with the professor. To do this, you’ll have to complete the following tasks:

Mew is within reach! With your help, Willow has successfully tested his prototype and modified your camera so that you can now find invisible Pokémon with the AR function. However, Mew doesn’t come just like that, but supposedly only shows itself to trainers with a strong will. Therefore, your tasks are:

Pokémon GO
Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.
Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights
Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.
Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.
Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More
The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from Pokemon.gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
