If you play Pokémon GO in a more rural area where there aren’t as many arenas and raids, you’ll usually have to travel longer distances to locate potential raids. However, there is a way around this problem – namely, by placing a Pokémon in an arena. We’ll tell you exactly how this works here in our quick tip.
While Pokémon GO fans who live in larger cities can find a Pokémon arena with raid events on almost every street corner, things look rather bleak for players in the countryside. Especially if you live in a small village in the middle of nowhere, you’ll have a hard time finding an arena with a raid nearby. If you’re unlucky, you’ll have to travel a long way to find out if and when the next raid will take place at an arena.
However, there is a way around this problem, even if it requires a little preparation. If you place a Pokémon in an arena, you can see from a distance whether a raid will start soon in the arena. We’ll now explain exactly how this works, based on an article from Pokemongohub.
First of all, you need to assign a Pokémon to the arena you want to watch. As long as a Pokémon is in the arena, you have two ways to find out if a raid is taking place. Either go to the Order screen or go to the Defense window of the Arena Pokémon.
In the Order screen, click on the Pokémon, while in the Defense screen, press the “Go to Arena” button. No matter what you choose, the game will then show you whether or not there is a raid going on in the arena. If a raid is in preparation, the game will show you an egg in the lower left corner of the screen. If you don’t see an egg, there is no raid coming up. If you click on the egg now, you will get access to the raid screen. This screen will then show you the duration until the start of the raid as well as its level.
If a Raid has already started, you will receive a corresponding message when you click on your Arena Pokémon. It will say that your Pokémon will return to the arena once the raid is complete. If you now leave the Arena screen and click on the white tab (“Nearby”) at the bottom right of the Start screen, the Raid in the Arena where you placed your Pokémon will also be displayed in the “Raid” tab – even if the Raid is strictly speaking not in your vicinity.
This way, you can make it a little easier on yourself if you live in a rural area and have to travel longer distances to the nearest arena. Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events).
