PoGO – Pokémon GO: How to get ALoLa Knogga in the raid - counters and tips

You can currently catch 13 different ALoLa forms in Pokémon GO. One of them is the tropical Tragosso evolution ALoLa-Knogga, which you can only get in Tier 4 Raids. We’ll show you the easiest way to defeat and catch ALoLa Knogga with which counter Pokémon here.

Two brand-new ALoLa forms, ALoLa Knogga and ALoLa Raichu, have been available in Pokémon GO since July 19. You can only get the two tropical pocket monsters in the raids and probably only until August 16, when Niantic’s app makers bring the next raid rotation into the game. We’ll show you which counter Pokémon you can use to send the Tier 4 boss ALoLa Knogga into the dust and catch it the fastest in our guide.

Pokémon GO: The ideal arena defenders among the Pokémon

Raid boss ALoLa-Knogga faces you with 20,190 CP and belongs to the Pokémon types Fire and Spirit. Therefore, the tropical mini dinosaur has weaknesses in the fight against pocket monster attacks of the type water, rock, ground, spirit and unlight. According to the Pokémon GO Hub, you can’t fight ALoLa Knogga alone or in pairs, but the pocket monster experts don’t say whether the raid boss can be defeated in pairs with the right weather and friendship bonuses.

In the worst case scenario, an ALoLa Knogga awaits you in the raid with Shatterer and Spookball. You have a relatively easy game against the charge attack Bone Club.

The weather outlook

You’ll find ideal raid conditions when it’s raining, which gives your water attacks even more oomph, but offers no benefits to ALoLa Knogga. Your second choice is partly cloudy weather, which also leaves the Mini Dinosaur empty-handed in terms of bonuses, but boosts your rock attacks.

Most often, though, you’ll likely be raiding in sunny weather for the next two weeks, which grants a damage bonus to both your ground and ALoLa Knoggas weaker charge attacks Fire Storm and Bone Club. Sun and Fog also raise the Tropical Rascal’s boss level from 20 to 25, giving you a stronger Pokémon when you defeat and catch the Raid boss:

The current unlikely fog gives an advantage to both your own Unlight and Spirit attacks, as well as ALoLa Knogga’s Burden and Haunted Ball abilities. If the tropical pocket monster has shatter in its repertoire, it hits especially hard in cloudy weather. However, ALoLa Knogga’s strength is clearly not in attack (attack value: 144), but in defense (200).

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events).
