Pokémon Go trainers rush from one PokéStop to the next, hunting for experience points and items. Since the trainer level in Pokémon Go determines the strength of wild Pokémon, it makes sense for trainers to focus on leveling first. We’ll give you an overview of the level rewards in Pokémon Go that you get when you level up.

Pokémon Go can probably be found on more mobile devices than U2’s free album Songs of Innocence. With their hands on their phones, their eyes downcast, and their power banks in their pockets, millions of trainers are currently roaming the streets in search of the next Pokémon and the experience points available at PokéStops. Even though not all secrets of Niantic’s mobile game have been revealed yet, it can already be seen that it is always better to level up with your trainer than to get bogged down in arena battles.

High-level trainers will find higher-level wild Pokémon and, of course, get rewards with each level-up. Currently, it appears that you can level your Pokémon Trainer up to rank 40. With each level-up, there are useful rewards that are flushed into your backpack. But which items are available at which level? When do you get hyperballs and hyper potions, what about the maximum enlivener or the maximum potion? We have a list for you below. If you want to know how many experience points you need for each level up in Pokémon Go, then be sure to read on after the rewards!

So far, it’s unknown what rewards await you after level 30. We’ll update the list as soon as we have news on this. Update from July 28, 2016: We have added the rank rewards of level 37 and 40 to the list! The question remains: Where are the master balls?!

Pokémon Go: Experience points per level

For each trainer level you have to collect experience points, which you can get by catching wild Pokémon, visiting PokéStops, evolving Pokémon, hatching eggs and fighting in an arena. And at the latest from level 20 it gets quite tough with the leveling, so you should think about saving your lucky eggs and use them only when you can evolve several Pokémon in one go. Or you can find a route to farm PokéStops.

Currently, there are supposed to be 40 trainer levels – according to the data readers on Reddit. So far, however, it is not known what level rewards there are after level 30, because no Pokémon trainer has yet collected the required experience points. But how many XP do you actually need? You can find out in the following table.

Pokémon Go: What do the items actually do?

Lure modules in PokéStops attract Pokémon.

If you haven’t played around with the items yet, then of course you have no idea what they do. That’s why we’ll explain it to you below!

  • Pokéball, Superball, Hyperball and Masterball – you need these balls to catch Pokémon. The better the balls, the higher the probability that you will catch the targeted Pokémon and it will stay in the Pokéball.
  • Potion, Super Potion, Hyper Potion, and Maximum Potion – Potions are used to heal Pokémon that have been damaged in battle. A Potion heals 20 Health Points (KP), a Super Potion heals 50 Points (KP), a Hyper Potion heals 200 Health Points (KP), and a Maximum Potion restores a Pokémon’s full Health Energy (KP).
  • Revive and Maximum Revive – you need the Revive to be able to use knocked out Pokémon again – currently in the game after a battle against the Pokémon in an arena of the enemy team, should they have beaten your pocket monster.
  • Smoke and lure module – you lure Pokémon in with both items. The smoke applies only to your trainer and is active for 30 minutes. Data crunchers have figured out that the smoke is worth it when you’re on the move, because then a Pokémon is lured in about once a minute. Other trainers don’t benefit from your smoke, but they do from a lure module that can be installed in a PokéStop. Pokémon will then be lured to that PokéStop for 30 minutes. Any trainer nearby can catch the Pokémon.
  • Himmihbeeren – you use the Himmihbeeren before throwing a Pokéball to make the Pokémon more trusting. This increases the chance that you will catch the monster with your next throw.
  • Lucky Egg – a lucky egg can be activated for 30 minutes and then provides double the amount of experience points during that time. So visiting a PokéStop will give you 100 counters instead of 50 experience points. Use the lucky eggs cleverly to level up quickly!
  • Egg incubator – there are two different types of incubators in Pokémon Go. An incubator with infinite applications is yours from the start. You can find egg incubators with three charges at various level-ups of your Pokémon trainer, in the store, and if you’re really lucky at a PokéStop. As the description suggests, you can use the machine for three eggs, after which it disappears automatically.

Pokémon Go: What do eggs do?

Eggs that you place in the egg hatching machine in Pokémon Go are hatched by moving around with Pokémon Go activated and not exceeding a certain speed limit. There are 2-, 5- and 10-kilometer eggs in the process, which can contain different Pokémon. Namely, the following:

2-kilometer egg: Bisasam, Glumanda, Schiggy, Raupy, Hornliu, Taubsi, Rattfratz, Habitak, Pikachu, Piepi, Pummeluff, Zubat, Little Stone and Karpador.

5-Kilometer Egg: Rettan, Sandan Nidoran♀, Nidoran♂, Vulpix, Myrapla, Paras, Bluzuk, Digda, Mauzi, Enton, Menki, Fukano, Quapsel, Abra, Machollo, Knofensa, Tentacha, Ponita, Flegmon, Magnetilo, Dodu, Jurob, Sleima, Muschas, Nebulak, Traumato, Krabby, Voltobal, Owei, Tragosso, Schlurp, Smogon, Rihorn, Tangela, Kangama, Seeper, Goldini, Sterndu, Pantimos, Tauros and Porygon.

10-Kilometer Egg: Onix, Kicklee, Nockchan, Chaneira, Sichlor, Rossana, Elektek, Magmar, Pinsir, Lapras, Evoli, Amonitas, Kabuto, Aerodactyl, Relaxo and Dratini.

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from Pokemon.gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
