On January 30, 2021, the developers of Pokémon Go will launch a surprisingly quick event, namely a Limited Research with Sniebel. For twelve hours, you will have time to complete specific field research in order to be rewarded with encounters with Sniebel – possibly even a Shiny Sniebel. The makers of Pokémon Go seem to have noticed that they have not yet announced an event for the coming weekend – January 30 and 31, 2021 – apart from the Johto celebration event. That’s why they’ve now done so without further ado and are ringing in Limited Research with Sniebel on January 30, 2021, starting at 08:00 local time. As part of the event, you’ll receive field research at PokéStops, which will reward you with an encounter with Sniebel. If you are lucky, you can also catch a Shiny Sniebel or two during the event. In addition, you can expect several steps of temporary research, which will also reward you with all kinds of Sniebel.
Past experience has shown that Limited Research can take anywhere from 15 to 20 steps. In Limited Research with Nidoran you could complete 16 steps, and with Mauzi it was 20. Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.
Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights
Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.
Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.
