In March 2021, the Mega Pokémon Mega Voltenso will appear for the first time in the Pokémon Go Raids. To unlock the Mega evolution, we have a counter guide for you to defeat Voltenso and collect the Mega Energies necessary for the evolution.
To coincide with the March Electrotastic event in Pokémon Go, the developers of the pocket monster collection game will also be bringing Mega Voltenso into the Raids for the first time. If you have a desire to unlock the Electric Monkey’s Mega Evolution, you’ll need to defeat Mega Voltenso at least once – and then probably a few more times to collect enough Mega Energies to trigger the evolution. To help you face the battle, we’ve prepared an up-to-date Mega Voltenso counter guide for you. We wish you a lot of fun in the battle. Remember that after defeating Mega Voltenso, you will not catch the Mega Evo, but a normal Voltenso.
Defeat Mega Voltenso as a raid boss
Mega-Voltenso is of the Electric type, making it super-effective against flying and water Pokémon, but it takes double the damage from ground attackers. Accordingly, you probably already have an idea of which Pokémon you should go for in Raid combat. As a raid boss, Mega-Voltenso has a whopping 51,346 CP to beat down, which means that, as with other Mega-Mon, you’re better off attacking in a group of three or more trainers. Because of its Electro type, Mega Voltenso deals more damage with Electro attacks in rainy weather. However, since it can also have Fire and Unlight attacks, these attacks can also pack a punch in sunny or foggy weather. However, your ground counters are not particularly impressed by this. Therefore, when fighting the Mega Pokémon, use the following Pocket Monsters:
- Demeteros (animal spirit form) with clay shot and earth powers
- Groudon with clay shot and earthquake
- Rihornior with clay shot and earthquake
- Knakrack with clay shot and earthquake
- Stalobor with clay shot and percussion drill
- Demeteros (incarnation form) with clay shot and earth forces
- Rizeros with clay clap and earthquake
- Rabigator with clay clap and earthquake
- Golgantes with clay lapel and earth forces
- Geowaz with clay lapel and earthquake
- Donphan with Clay Clamp and Earthquake
- Mega-Gengar with Dark Claw and Spookball
Catch Mega Voltenso
As already mentioned, you will not catch Mega Voltenso after a victory, but a normal Voltenso. If you have successfully completed the battle against Mega Voltenso, the freestyle follows after the duty and you have the chance to banish the pocket monster into your Pokéball. Then Voltenso has 1,337 CP at level 20 with 100% IV values. If Voltenso is boosted to level 25 in rainy weather, it will have 1,672 CP at perfect 100% IV values. We wish you good luck in the hunt!

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.
Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights
Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.
Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events).
