The developers of Pokémon Go have finally changed the field research and the Pokémon available from it. And even though it can be assumed that at least the event field researches for the Mega Battle Challenge will change again, we have for you an overview of the Pokémon about researches in September 2020 in Pokémon Go as well as possible Shinys – and for which researches there are Mega Energies.
Update from September 14, 2020: In the meantime, the event researches have been joined by some that you can use to obtain Mega Energies for the Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Go. We have brought the list up to date!
Update from September 11, 2020: The Mega Battle Challenge has started in Pokémon Go and, as suspected, the event research has been changed. More precisely: Instead of the previously available five event researches, there’s now only one and – contrary to previous statements on the part of the developers and according to the people from SilphRoad – it only brings ten Mega Energies for Bibor. Nothing else has changed with the other Pokémon encounters via research in September. We have updated the list for you.

Original news from September 10, 2020: After August 2020 was rather bland in terms of Pokémon that you can get via completed research in Pokémon Go, because there were mainly battle Pokémon for what felt like eternity, the change to September has at least changed a lot. Now the Psycho Pocket Monsters are in the spotlight.
For example, Koknodon and Chaneira can be obtained via the current event research in September 2020, the latter even as a Shiny if you’re lucky. Also Owei, the obligatory Larvitar, Trasla, Abra and Karpador are not to be scoffed at – of course only if you get the corresponding field research and complete it. You can see which Field Researches are currently available in Pokémon Go with which encounter rewards in the list below.
Two hints: It can be assumed that with September 11, 2020, at least the encounter rewards you currently receive from event research will change, because that’s when the Mega Battle Challenge begins. However, the Event Research that gives you Mega Energies for Bisaflor, Glurak, and Turtok will remain and will also be expanded to include Bibor Mega Energies. As soon as the encounter rewards from the research change, we will of course update the overview for you. You can also see which pocket monsters you can get as Shiny if you are lucky.
Pokémon GO
Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.
Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights
Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.
Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from Pokemon.gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
