PoGO – Pokémon Go: Regigigas as Raid Boss - Counter Guide

Regigigas has been demoted from EX raid boss to a normal Tier 5 raid boss. This means that the colossus is a bit easier to defeat in Pokémon Go. Update, June 17, 2021: It’s been a while since you last had the chance to battle Regigigas in Pokémon Go. It’s been almost two years since Regigigas made an appearance, and then it was reserved for the relatively exclusive EX Raids, to which ambitious trainers first had to get an invitation – either from Niantic or from friends.

Now Regigigas is a “normal” Tier 5 raid boss, so it can still be fought in a team, but three or four players with the perfect counters can do it. Currently, Regigigas will remain in the Tier 5 raids until July 1, 2021 at 22:00. You can also get it as a Shiny if you’re lucky! Original news on October 19, 2019: In Pokémon Go in November 2019, the exact date is not yet known, a new EX raid boss will be unleashed on the raid fans among you: Regigigas. Those who don’t want to wait that long will probably have already secured the pay ticket for the Regigigas special research “A Colossal Discovery”. But if you want to tackle Regigigas primarily in an EX Raid, you should know which Pokémon you should go into battle with. We give you tips in the counter guide to Regigigas below.

Pokémon Go: Regigigas as EX Raid Boss

Regigigas is a legendary Pokémon of Normal type and therefore takes a good beating from Battle Pokémon. The possible attacks of Regigigas are quite diverse: As an instant attack, Regigigas can access Zen Headbutt (Psycho type) and Smash (Battle type), as well as the charge attacks Stone Edge (Rock type), Avalanche (Ice type), and Ram Boss (Steel type). At least this also means that Regigigas doesn’t benefit from any STAB bonus – Zen Headbutt, Avalanche and Ram Boss should cause a lot of pain as it is.

Therefore, you should start the battle with at least three to seven trainers, keeping in mind that your Battle-type Pocket Monsters have no resistance to Ice and Steel-type attacks, so take more accordingly. They only take less damage from Stone Edge, which is why a Regigigas with the Rock attack is also the least dangerous to its opponents. If you attack in partly cloudy weather, Regigigas will be boosted to level 25 and Shatterer will deal more damage.

Still, you’ll want to attack when it’s cloudy, because that’s when your attackers’ damage will also be boosted with combat attacks. In windy weather, Regigigas’ Zen Headbutt does more damage, in partly cloudy weather his Stone Edge does more damage, and in snowy weather his Ram Boss and Avalanche do more damage. Regigigas has 55,480 CP as a raid boss and the following Pokémon are the best to attack with:

If you have successfully completed the battle against Regigigas and have the chance to banish the pocket monster into your Pokéball, then Regigigas has 2,483 CP at level 20 with 100% IV values. Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy.
