PoGO – Pokémon Go: Regirock as Raid Boss - Counter Guide

Original news from January 30, 2018: At the moment, the legendary Pokémon Kyogre is still wreaking havoc in Tier 5 Raids in Pokémon GO. In the foreseeable future, however, trainers will also be able to take on the rock Pokémon Regirock. Regirock has 42,768 Raid Boss CP and is easiest to counter with Battle, Ground, or Water Pokémon due to its Rock type. In order to have the best possible chances against Regirock in the Raid battle, we will give you a number of tips in our guide based on an article from Pokemongohub to help you fight the Rock Pokémon.

If you want to maximize your chances against Regirock, you should fight the raid boss with at least four to seven trainers – depending on the strength of your Pokémon teams. Regirock relies on the following Rock, Fighting, and Electric type attacks:

– Stone Thrower (Instant Attack)

– Crusher (instant attack)

– Stone Edge (Charge Attack)

– Focus blast (charge attack)

– Lightning Cannon (Charge Attack)

You are best off with Battle Pokémon because of Regirock’s reduced damage. Regirock’s attacks are boosted in partly cloudy weather, and the rock Pokémon then also has a higher Battle Power when captured (1,784 CP without weather effects, 2,230 CP in partly cloudy weather at level 25). If you want to use Kyogre as a Water Pokémon against Regirock, you will benefit from rain – but only if Regirock doesn’t have the attack Lightning Cannon, which also causes more damage in rain and can then be especially dangerous for Kyogre. All in all, the following Pokémon are the best ones to use against Regirock:

– Metagross with cartridge punch and star punch

– Kyogre with waterfall and hydro pump

– Machomei with counterattack and balancing blow

– Roserade with razor blade and pouncer

– Impergator with waterfall and aqua howitzer

– Kapilz with counter and Strauchler

– Bisaflor with tendril strike and flora statue

– Groudon with clay shot and solar beam

– Hariyama with counter and balancing blow

– Palkia with fire breath and hydro pump

– Toxiquak with counterattack and balancing blow

– Skaraborn with counter and close combat

– Tangoloss with tendril strike and solar beam

Other possible counters you can use:

– Galagladi with kick and melee

– Sumpex with aqua snare and surfer

– Lohgock with counter and focus kick

– Aquana with aqua gun and hydro pump

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados).
