PoGO – Pokémon Go: Solstice event with Shiny Piepi – Info in guide

Starting on June 19, 2020, Pokémon Go will host the Solstice event, during which Sonnfel and Lunastein will swap regions. The makers of Pokémon Go celebrate this, among other things, with the introduction of Shiny Piepi into the game. Find out what else there is to know about the solstice event in our guide.

The developers of Pokémon Go celebrate the twice-yearly solstice with the Solstice Event in the game, in which the regionally limited pocket monsters Sonnfel and Lunastein appearing in the wild swap regions. The Solstice event itself will begin on June 19, 2020 at 5:00 PM our time and will be active until June 24, 2020 at 10:00 PM. Basically, you should already have your Pokéballs ready during this time, because you will receive double the amount of stardust by catching Pokémon throughout the event. In this quick guide, we’ll give you some more details so that you know everything about the event and can prepare yourself accordingly:

Solstice in Pokémon Go – Event duration: June 19, 2020 at 08:00 (the developers communicated the wrong time, the event is already activated) until June 24, 2020 at 22:00 local time.
Pokémon related to the Sun and Moon, such as Piepi and Sonnkern, will appear more frequently in the wild, in Raid battles, and as rewards for event-exclusive Field Research projects, and will hatch from 5-km eggs more frequently.
If you’re lucky, you may even encounter an Iridescent Piepi!
Double Catch Stardust
During the event, Lunastein and Sonnfel will appear in all regions in level 3 raid battles and hatch from 5-km eggs.
Lunastein and Sonnfel appear in other regions in the wild. Here’s when Lunastein and Sonnfel will appear in the wild in your region:
From Friday, June 19 at 8 a.m. to Saturday, June 20 at 11:59 p.m. (local time), Lunastein will appear in the wild more frequently in the Eastern Hemisphere and Sonnfel will appear in the Western Hemisphere.
From Sunday, June 21 at 12 a.m. to Monday, June 22 at 11:59 p.m. (local time), Lunastein and Sonnfel appear more frequently in the wild worldwide.
From Tuesday, June 23 at 12 a.m. to Wednesday, June 24 at 10 p.m. (local time), Lunastein and Sonnfel will swap hemispheres. Lunastein will then appear more frequently in the wilderness in the Western Hemisphere and Sonnfel in the Eastern Hemisphere.
After the event, Lunastein stays in the Western Hemisphere and Sonnfel in the Eastern Hemisphere.

One detail here: previously, you could only get Iridescent Piepi by hatching and evolving an Iridescent Pii. So, for the very first time, you can encounter Iridescent Piepi in the wild. We hope you enjoy the hunt!

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy.
