With the Novembe update for Pokémon GO, Niantic has made some adjustments to the stats of various Pokémon. Some have been hit particularly hard, including the popular defensive monsters Relaxo and Onyx.
The last major November update for Pokémon GO included a whole series of innovations and adjustments. Among other things, Niantic also made various changes to the stats of some Pokémon. In the process, some pocket monsters have to lose a lot of ground. Based on an article from Pokemongohub, we’ll now explain which five Pokémon are most affected and which ones you’d rather leave in their Pokéballs in the future.
Pokémon GO – Stats overhaul: Heitara
Heitara was among the best Pokémon for arena defense in the entire game before the November update. In the meantime, however, Niantic has been mightily bugging the evolution from Chaneira, reducing its overall CP by a whopping 14.35 percent, from 3219 to 2757. In addition, Heitara’s defense drops from 229 to 169. However, because it only has to forfeit 14 HP, it is still suitable as a defender for arenas.
Pokémon GO – Stats Revision: Relaxo
Although Relaxo hasn’t really been pulling out trees in the meta for a while now, Niantic has decided to make another nerf: Although Relaxo gets ten additional HP, he loses 21 defense points in return, which corresponds to a CP nerf of 3.87 percent. This means that the sleepy giant will hardly be suitable for serious arena or raid battles in the future.
Pokémon GO – Stats revision: Onyx
Onyx lives on its defense – and it is precisely this that Niantic is dealing a major blow to in the current November update: The rock Pokémon does get 31 additional HP. However, the developers lower the defense of Onyx by 61 points. With an original value of 333 defense, Onyx was actually one of the best defensive Pokémon in the game. With the nerf, Onxy is still good as a defender, but it is no longer in the top league.
Pokémon GO – Stats revision: Stollos
Stollos is another defensive monster: Similar to Onyx, Stollos gets more HP, 32 points to be exact. The consequences are similar to Onyx’s: from an excellent defender, Stollos is at best a passable defender. For both Onyx and Stollos, the best fans can do now is wait for Mega Evolution.
Pokémon GO – Stats Overhaul: Austos
Austos also joins the group of defensive nerfs: although the Pokémon gains almost 100 CP points, its defense drops by a whopping 67 points. The problem with this is that it was the fairly high defense value that previously made Austos a viable Ice Pokémon in attack. The nerf therefore makes Austos completely useless in the meta.
Despite these changes, the nerfs in the November update are still relatively tame. All in all, Niantic has mainly changed the defensive values, but the total CP has only been reduced for 14 Pokémon. Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.
Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights
Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.
Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.
Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More
The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from Pokemon.gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
