Mewtu returns for a week with a powerful Psycho Charge attack Psycho Strike, but it is significantly harder to defeat than the times before. This version of Mewtu has 248 attack, 155 defense, and 22,500 CP. This gives it a WP of 66,318 in the raid. For comparison, the normal Mewtu (without armor) had 49,430 WP in the last event and could be easily defeated by three players. Although Mewtu appears in the Tier 5 raids, it is actually classified as a Tier 6 boss. So this time, you’re more likely to need four trainers with the appropriate counter Pokémon. If you go into battle here with the Pokémon suggested by the game, you won’t succeed.
After Spookball and Hyperbeam became legacy moves, Mewtu now has Flame Throw, Ice Beam, Thunder Bolt, Focus Blast, and Psychokinesis attacks. He continues to cast either Confusion or Psycho Blade as instant attacks. He is vulnerable to bug, spirit, and unlight attacks. The WP range is 2,294 to 2,387.
What the best counters are against Mewtu depends on what charge attacks he uses, how many players you are competing with, and even the weather plays a small role. In the rain, for example, Beetle Pokémon play their advantages, but if they are hit by Flame Throw, they immediately bite the dust.
