The folks at Pokémon Go have promised a preparation event for the Pokémon Go Johto Tour, and here it comes, the “GO Tour: Stay on the Pokéball” event. Unsurprisingly, this one is supposed to get you more Pokéballs. And Hisui-Voltobal. We would rather know: How iset meanwhile, have you bought the Johto ticket?
On February 18, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., Pokemon Go will launch an event whose name will dwarf anything that has come before in terms of its “clumsyness.” GO Tour: Stay on the Pokéball. As you can see from the event’s title, the idea is to prepare yourself for the Pokémon Go Johto Tour on February 26, 2022, by hoarding Pokéballs.
Round Pokémon, some of which look like Pokéballs, are increasingly appearing in the wild. And you can now evolve Hisui-Voltobal into Hisui-Lektrobal. Yeah wow. How are you supposed to hoard Pokéballs during this event? Well, by doing research for the items. Oh well. You can find all the information here in a compact guide.
GO Tour: Stay on the Pokéball – the event
Here’s a quick summary of what you can expect during GO Tour: Stay on the Pokéball.
- From February 18, 2022 at 10:00 am until February 25, 2022 at 8:00 pm the event GO Tour: Stay on the Pokéball is active.
- Starting then, you can trigger the evolution of Hisui-Voltobal into Hisui-Lektrobal for 50 Voltobal candies. You can do this even after the event is over.
- The avatar item Ballduin Costume is available in the item store.
- Temporary research will earn you Pokéballs.
- In the wild, Voltobal, Hisui-Voltobal, Smogon, Marill, Wailmer, Monozyto, and Tarnpignon, as well as Pummeluff, Lektrobal, Hutsassa, and Galar-Flunschlik appear more frequently.
- Your buddy will bring you gifts of Pokéballs.
- Through research you can earn Pokéballs, Superballs and Hyperballs.

The little rant at the end
You may already have gathered from the text that I personally don’t really think much of the event. It would also have been completely okay if nothing had taken place in the run-up to the Johto Tour. And that brings me to the bone of contention, the Johto Tour. You may remember that I made a survey. I wanted to know how many players had gotten the Johto Tour ticket, and at the time, with about 340 participants, two-thirds of the respondents said they wouldn’t get the ticket. Meanwhile, on February 16, 2022, there are 805 responses and still around 55 percent of the survey participants say they will not get the Johto Tour ticket.
You probably know what’s coming next. The last time people participated in the survey was in the last week of January 2022, so a bit more time has passed since then. That’s why I’m repeating the survey now. Please participate and share the new poll with other Pokémon Go fans, because I’m really curious to see how big the success (or failure) of the Johto Tour will be.

Pokémon GO
Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.
Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights
Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.
Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.
Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More
The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from Pokemon.gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
