PoGO – Pokémon GO: What are Meistagrif, Maxax and Co good for in the meta?

The makers of Pokémon Go have unleashed a slew of new 5th generation Pokémon on trainers. The question arises, what role Meistagrif, Maxax, Brockoloss and Co take in the metagame of PvE and PvP fans. We have a brief overview of which of the new pocket monsters you definitely want to grab.

The developers of Pokémon Go have unleashed new pocket monsters from the 5th game generation, i.e. from Einall, on the community and of course everyone wants to add the new Pokémon to their collection. But the hardcore fans are of course also interested in what the second evolutions of Kiesling, Praktibalk, Flapteryx and Co. actually bring to the metagame. Is a Lithomith worthwhile for PvP, i.e. the trainer fights? Is a Deponitox suitable for PvE raids in Pokémon Go? The authors of the Pokémon Go Hub website have investigated this question and we have translated their answers to the strongest mon and their most powerful attacks for you below.

Meistagrif

The absolute winner is Meistagrif (Praktibalk -> Strepoli -> Meistagrif), because it is the second strongest battle Pokémon that currently exists in the game; at the PvE top is still Lucario. On the other hand, Meistagrif has much more stamina. For combat in raids and arenas, look for the attacks Counter and Blast. In PvP, you’ll also want to learn the second charge attack, Stone Edge, with Meistagrif. Although Meistagrif only ranks 21st in the overall field of Master League monsters, it is still the best Pokémon of the Battle type. By the way, remember that Strepoli has an exchange evolution!

Maxax

Behind Rayquaza and Brutalanda, Maxax (Milza -> Sharfax -> Maxax) is now the third best Dragon attacker in PvE, though it can take less than Dragoran, for example. Maxax’s attacks are not the best, otherwise it would be ranked much higher. For PvE, the Dragon Rod and Dragon Claw attack combo is good. For PvP behind, you want to reach for Counter as an instant attack and Dragon Claw as well as Night Strike as a charge attack.

Brockoloss

Brockoloss (Gravel -> Sedimantur -> Brockoloss) is ranked 5th best Rock Pokémon behind Rock attackers like Despotar and Rameidon – Rameidon does more damage, Despotar can take more. If you still want to go with Brockoloss as your PvE attacker, it should have Catapult and Stone Hail. If you want to go into battle with Brockoloss in PvP (at rank 4 of the Rock Pokémon in the Master League), then you should go for the skills Catapult, Power Colossus and Stone Hail. By the way, remember that Sedimantur has a swap evolution!

Aeropteryx

Aeropteryx (Flapteryx -> Aeropteryx) has impressive attack values, but its attacks are currently suboptimal – perhaps it will learn more skills in time. For that reason, feel free to develop an Aeropteryx and keep it on hand for a hopefully brighter future. If you want to use it now, choose the attacks Wing Strike and Dragon Claw for PvE. For PvP, use the two attacks mentioned above, as well as the charge attack Ancient Power.

Cavalanzas

Cavalanzas (Laukaps -> Cavalanzas) is 5th on the ranking list of the best beetle attackers and thus negligible in PvE. However, the beetle plays a major role in PvP, where it is only surpassed by Skaraborn. In PvE, if you don’t have a Scherox, look for the Beetle Bite and Cross Scissors attacks for Cavalanzas. In PvP, go for Counter or Beetle Bite for instant attacks and Vielender and Strike Drill for charge attacks. By the way, keep in mind that Laukaps and Schnuthelm have barter evolution – with the cost of Cavalanzas evolution, you definitely want to take advantage of it!

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy.
