SPECIAL ABILITIES AND PLAYSTYLE
The Trax Spikes design is a wearable version that deploys a hexagonal bundle of spikes when activated and covers uneven railings better than a bare strip. Once inserted, the spines can reproduce and spread over a large area. This feature, unique to an attacker, allows the Trax to be used as an obstacle to alter the map and take control of an area. Effects include slowing and damaging the enemy as they walk over it. Trax spikes are destroyed when shot or thermally damaged.

The eldest of five children, Fairous has demonstrated her leadership skills more than once in her life. Even as a child, Fairous was involved with machines and took part in robot championships. Her technical streak stems largely from the influence of her father, a military aircraft mechanic. To further develop her skills as a mechanic and to have access to the best equipment, Fairous joined the Australian Army Reserves. After graduating from university, she continued to hone her technical skills with the Australian Defense Force. Fairous is also an expert on numerous types of weapons, intelligence gathering and personal security. Her ability to adapt to unexpected situations allows her to remain calm even in dangerous situations. These unique capabilities made her the ideal candidate for the SASR Mobility Platoon. Fairous was awarded the National Emergency Medal for her service in rescuing firefighters. She was repeatedly offered management positions, but she always turned them down.

Specialists Tori “Gridlock” Fairous and Max “Mozzie” Goose caught my attention when they were recognized for their heroic rescue of trapped firefighters during Operation Esperance Bushfire. From the outside their plan seemed extremely daring, but to me it encapsulated what makes a team special.
The two have known each other since a robot competition in high school, after which they went into the army together. Since then they have formed a team. Individually they are of great use to Rainbow… together they are unstoppable. Both have repeatedly demonstrated their creative ability under pressure. But what happens when we pit them against each other? Also, I wonder if Specialist Fairous would be as adept on a new team… let alone how the team would respond to such a dominating personality. Mission reports often highlight Fairous’ natural leadership qualities. It is therefore surprising that she has always refused promotions so far. She jokingly says it involves too much paperwork, but deliberately holds back. After her father’s death, she and her mother learned that the family farm was in debt. Fairous took matters into her own hands, rallying her four siblings and her cousins. She invested her own wages in saving the farm. Fairous is not afraid to take responsibility. The need to take care of her family is reflected in her dealings with the team. Because of this, I want to know more about her life on the farm. Even when she complains about having to fix clogged toilets and broken tractors, you can hear the warmth in her voice. Fairous is not afraid to take responsibility. Her “close her eyes and through” mentality doesn’t make her shy away from hard work. And thanks to her sense of humor, she can get something out of every situation. So maybe she turned down the promotions because she takes full responsibility at home, while at work she prefers to take things as they come.
