JIM RAYNOR
Jim Raynor was born on Mar Sara and raised by his grandfather, who taught him much about hunting and shooting. As he grew older he fought in the unit ‘Heaven’s Devils’ against the Kel-Moria Combine, but was withdrawn for insubordination and met Tychus Findlay at Camp McIntyre, who would later serve him faithfully. Together they were lost in an operation behind enemy lines and only reappeared nine months later. Tychus Findlay was captured by the Combine while Jim Raynor mysteriously disappeared.
Independently of this, upon his return, he obtained the post of marshal, and it was also during this period that he met his wife Liddy, who bore him a son – Johnny. Since he had special abilities, he was incorporated into the ‘Ghost’ program, during which he died. This hit Liddy so hard that she never recovered and soon succumbed to a strong flu. To distract himself from this loss, Jim Raynor threw himself all the more into his work.
Jim Raynor
When he was 29 years old, Mar Sara’s neighboring planet, Chau Sara, was attacked by the Protoss and Jim Raynor’s life began to change drastically. In the wake of the attacks, Jim Raynor was given the task of leading the civilians into the wasteland and guarding them. In the course of this, however, he intercepted a radio message from the ‘Backwater Station’ and decided, contrary to the instructions, to intervene himself and not wait for Edmund Duke and Alpha Squadron. He managed to save the humans in the backwater station and destroyed a Zerg-infected command center. However, for disobeying orders and destroying ‘government property’, he was arrested and imprisoned on the prison ship Merrimack.
At this point the sons of Korhal and Michael Liberty appeared and freed Jim Raynor and his crew. With the Protoss threatening his home world and the Confederates imprisoning him, it took little persuasion for Arcturus Mengsk, leader of the Sons of Korhal, to win Jim Raynor over to his cause. As the first mission, Jim Raynor managed to steal the Confederacy’s weapons data and discovered Zerglings for research purposes in the course of this mission. With Mar Sara soon destroyed by the Protoss, the Sons of Korhal moved their forces to Antiga Prime, where they helped the insurgents end Alpha Squadron’s rule. Sarah Kerrigan helped decisively with this. Since the damage to the Norad II, Edmund Duke’s flagship, presented an opportunity to gain an important ally, Jim Raynor was sent – against his belief – to rescue him from the Zerg. His displeasure with Arcturus Mengsk grew as the latter led him in various battles against the Zerg and the Confederacy, eventually using the Psi Emitter to overwhelm Delta Squadron from the Zerg. However, with the help of the Protoss, Jim Raynor and the Sons of Korhal managed to escape to Tarsonis before they ‘cleansed’ the planet of Zerg contamination. In the course of attacking the Confederacy’s primary defenses, Mengsk now used Duke to use the psi emitter a second time, luring in both the Zerg and Protoss. In order to prevent the Protoss from destroying the Zerg so that they could do their cruel work, Mengsk used Kerrigan to stop the Protoss. When this mission was crowned with success, Mengsk ordered the retreat of the Sons of Korhal, but without taking Sarah with him, thereby sacrificing her to the Zerg. Jim Raynor’s attempt to save them failed because he could not find them and so he only managed to save some colonists and his followers from Mar Sara together with Michael Liberty and swore revenge on Arcturus Mengsk as a result. In order to escape, Jim Raynor attacked a space station and captured his future flagship, the Hyperion.
After weeks of aimless wandering, Raynor landed his forces on Char and attempted to establish himself there, but was soon tracked down and nearly destroyed by the Zerg led by the infected Kerrigan. Kerrigan allowed Jim Raynor to escape and Raynor saw the need to ally with the Protoss. He tracked down Tassadar and Zeratul and helped them track down Kerrigan. Attempts to destroy the Zerg failed, however, and only with the help of a Protoss strike force originally sent to Tassadar’s imprisonment were the allies able to escape to Aiur. Campaigns in general
In Starcraft 2, as in the first part, there is a single player mode. In this mode you play the campaigns of each race. On this page you will find the individual missions of the campaigns which we summarize as a walkthrough.
All three campaigns will be released as single games. These will be released in intervals of about 1-2 years and have the following titles.
Wings of Liberty – Terran Campaign

Legacy of the Void – Protoss Campaign
All three campaigns have a story mode and a game mode. In the story mode, as you know it from role-playing games, you play from the point of view of a character, e.g. Jim Raynor, with whom you get information about planets, units or the story. Here you’ll also make important decisions that will determine the course of the game’s story. It can happen that you only see some cutscenes if you have completed a certain mission sequence. You can also postpone some missions and complete them later. There are also decisions in the story mode that have an effect on the missions. For example, you decide which units will be used for a particular mission. The missions are designed so that you can complete them using different tactics.
Story (Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty) The story of StarCraft II Wings of Liberty continues the saga and takes place four years after the events of StarCraft: Brood War. The storyline features familiar characters such as Jim Raynor or Kerrigan, but new heroes such as Tychus J. Findlay or Matt Horner also play a role.
However, the campaigns of the three races are completely different. In Wings of Liberty you have to earn money through missions to reinforce your troops. As far as the story is concerned, you are Jim Raynor with the Raynor Raiders fighting against the League. The Zerg, on the other hand, have no money problems and there is no need to buy expensive technologies. The Zerg campaign itself is more role-playing oriented and you act from Kerrigan’s point of view. The Protoss campaign is mainly about diplomacy.
