Valorant goes full cyberpunk with its latest skin series – Glitchpop. The new visuals are already available in the in-game store.
After the Dragon skins, we didn’t really expect Riot to announce another great skin series so soon. The Glitchpop skins are clearly inspired by cyberpunk and fit perfectly into the game world. To be fair, not much is known about the game’s lore, but it’s definitely set in the future and some of the agents are obviously augmented.

No idea what Riot Games had in mind here, but the trailer can definitely cause an aneurysm. You can also see that the skins will come with a range of stickers, with everything from toast to bunnies.
Senior Valorant Weapons Artist, Chris Stone, comments:
“Glitchpop was an opportunity for us to take inspiration from the cyberpunk genre and give it our own fresh take. There are so many cool representations of the cyberpunk genre that we didn’t want to lean too heavily on any of them. We decided to focus on how we could push this skin series towards a more fun and punk aesthetic, rather than the classic gritty and grounded cyberpunk representation we often see.”
Sean Bigham, senior Valorant concept artist, added that the skins were created “by accident” because one of the artists misunderstood the brief:
“We showed this design to the rest of the team and they loved it. We knew we had something special here, but it needed to be pushed further and really fleshed out. As we continued to develop Glitchpop, the question kept coming up of how we could balance the whole visual mess to fit into the established Valorant art style.”
Although the skins are visually appealing, the price is still quite high and a large part of the Valorant community is not happy about it. Here are all the weapons that will receive a Glitchpop skin.
- Frenzy – 2,175 VP
- Judge – 2,175 VP
- Bulldog – 2,175 VP
- Odin – 2,175 VP
- Melee – 4,350 VP
- Bundle – 8,700 VP
The melee skin has two tiers – the second level features new audio effects, an inspection animation, and a color change whenever you equip it. The rest of the weapon skins have seven levels, and each one builds on the previous one:
- Level 1: Just the model and visual effects for the scope.
- Level 2: New muzzle flash and other shooting sounds
- Level 3: New animations and sounds when equipping and reloading, logo hologram projection, new sounds when inspecting
- Level 4: Kill banner and finisher
- Level 5: Blue variant with visual effects
- Level 6: Red variant with visual effects
- Level 7: Golden variant with visual effects
The Glitchpop skins will go live with the release of Act 2. This is scheduled to start as early as today, July 29. What do you think of the new Cyberpunk skins?
How to get skins in Valorant
Everyone uses the same weapons in Valorant, but that doesn’t mean every weapon has to look the same. After all, you’re going to spend a lot of time looking at your weapon, so looking at it might as well be.
Fortunately, the folks at Riot have the perfect solution for players who need to look good while shooting enemies. Skins are cosmetic add-ons that can change the physical appearance of a weapon, as well as animations and audio effects.
Read on to find out where you can get these unique looks and whether you need to play or pay to unlock the customizations.
How do I get skins in Valorant?
Unlike other popular multi-shooter games, Valorant doesn’t have any special skins to change and customize the look of the agent – at least for now. What they do offer is a collection of skins that can change and improve the way weapons look and feel while playing the game.
They don’t necessarily improve your gameplay, but sometimes looking good is enough to win a match, right?
Spend real money
This is possibly the easiest way to get the weapon skin you want but don’t have the time to unlock. Valorant Points or VP is the premium currency used in the game to unlock agents, skins and more from the in-game store.
Here is an example of converting real money to VP on the North American server:
- $4.99 – 475 VP, no bonus VP, 475 VP total.
- $9.99 – 950 VP, 50 bonus VP, 1000 VP total
- $19.99 – 1900 VP, 150 bonus VP, 2050 total
- $34.99 – 3325 VP, 325 bonus VP, 3650 total
- $49.99 – 4750 VP, 600 bonus VP, 5350 total
- 99 $ – 9500 VP, 1500 bonus VP, 11000 total
As a frame of reference, Valorant Store Featured Collections are around 7,100 VP. Individual weapon skins are slightly less expensive and generally range from 1,775 VP to 4,350 VP each, with melee weapon skins at the higher end of the price scale.
Before you start searching for weapon skins, you should know that featured bundles change every few weeks and individual skin deals change every 24 hours. So what you see today may not be what you see tomorrow.
