The M72 LAW is a rocket launcher from Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: Defiance.
Call of Duty: Black Ops
Campaign
In the campaign, you use the LAW to destroy three Vietnamese tanks in the mission SOG. She is unable to target the tanks. You find her in a bunker along with several M60s.
Multiplayer
The LAW is the only missile launcher that you can use right from the start. It can target both vehicles and people, just like the AT4. In general, it resembles this model, except for the number of missiles and some externalities like the reloading animation.
When used in conjunction with Scavenger Pro, it becomes much more effective than the Strela-3 or the RPG, because it can target both types of enemies and has two missiles, which is enough to destroy most enemy stuff, even those that can dodge missiles. The best way to destroy most aircraft with free fire is to fire from the hip. The best way to do this is with low-flying helicopters, but even higher-flying stuff like the helicopter gunner is easy out of the sky if you aim ever so slightly forward and shoot where the helicopter is about to go. As with all rocket launchers, the looter does not replenish ammo. Also, just like the RPG, the missiles don’t explode at the exact spot indicated when you aim, so it can be difficult to shoot through windows or doors from a certain distance. Therefore, you shouldn’t shoot while running, because you’ll probably miss the target, or at least not kill it.
While this is often believed, the LAW does not have a lower blast radius or damage than the RPG. Just like the RPG, it does 160-70 damage and has a blast radius of 5.4 meters. In the weapons game, the LAW is weapon level No. 17.
The biggest drawbacks to the weapon are the low ammo and the long time to retrieve it because the player has to pop it up first after switching to it.
Survival Combat
The LAW is available on all maps except Dead Ops Arcade for 950 points at the mystery crate and has 21 missiles in it. It is not very useful, however, as it does little damage and takes a long time to reload. Speed Cola should be purchased, as well as Dr. Rivet if you play Ascension, Call of the Dead, Shangri-La, or Moon. The player should either quickly replace it with another weapon or punch it. Punched it is called “M72 Anarchy” and has 10 missiles in the magazine, also it fires fully automatic. The character no longer automatically goes into the sights when you pull the trigger, which really allows you to shoot faster. The M72 Anarchy is much better than the normal version and is often just ridiculed, even though it has more power than Porter’s X2 ray gun and can massacre a whole horde of zombies with 2-3 shots even in high rounds, provided the missile and blast damage hit. The biggest drawbacks are the few points you score with it, plus it kills very slowly in late rounds.

- The name of the punched version is a pun on the normal name (LAW is English for law).
- In the Wii version of Black Ops, there are white markings on the glass part of the gun rather than black ones, making them much more visible, but the shape is the same.
- From third person, the player holds the LAW as if it had a pistol grip.
